  2. They retired his number after 1 year at Texas. Being transcendent is a good gig.
  3. This is going to be a bit more big time than the events we've had in the past. ------------------ A new era for Nebraska basketball begins on Friday, Sept. 27, as the Huskers will usher in the Fred Hoiberg era at Pinnacle Bank Arena with Opening Night with Husker Hoops. The event, which is free to the public, will feature a musical act which will be announced at a later date. The night includes introductions of the 2019-20 Huskers, a live scrimmage on the brand new PBA court, remarks from Coach Hoiberg, fan contests, giveaways and more. “We wanted to kickoff basketball season with an event that allows our fans to have a good time and get an early preview of our team as we start practice,” Hoiberg said. “We hope this event is not only the start of a new tradition for our program, but also the start of festive weekend with the Husker football team hosting Ohio State the following day.” Pinnacle Bank Arena doors will open at 6 p.m. with the event beginning at 7 p.m. Fans can start registering for lower bowl tickets on Huskers.com/Tickets beginning on Monday, July 15, at 10 a.m. with a limit of four reserved tickets per person. Upper bowl seats will be opened as needed. A limited number of student seats will be held for RedZone season-ticket holders, and information on how to reserve tickets for the event will be communicated directly to student season ticket holders. Opening Night with Husker Hoops begins a busy weekend on the Nebraska campus, as the Husker football team hosts Ohio State the following day.
  4. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ahamad-bynum 6'1" SG out of Simeon (Chicago). That's where Ed Morrow came from. Pretty sure this is a Gates recruit. We must think pretty highly of him given he's under 6'5"
  5. I'd say the timing on when that blew up was odd....it was a fairly old rumor here. Was that about basketball or was there some other reason. No idea. Otherwise you run a fine line at times when you potentially give people more leeway because of how well they do their job. If there is nothing there with Moos, there is nothing there. If there is something there and it gets buried because he's doing a good job....that's the sort of thing that makes the Jerry Sanduskys of the world possible.
  6. Like many teams the Iowa St Hoiberg teams typically had 'a guy' dominate the shots. Perhaps this will be one of those teams where it's split among a few guys but it's very possible that one guy emerges. While I think Burke has the potential to be a fine player for us I think if he is the ball dominant guy this year then we will not have a good year.
  7. Dachon's sophomore numbers look a lot like JPJ's Sophomore numbers....both players have an eFG% around 50%, get to the line, and have large usage rates. I wouldn't call Burke all that efficient either but he's obviously capable of carrying the load for team like JPJ was. The other caveat is that Burke put up his numbers vs the Northeast Conference whereas JPJ did his damage vs the B1G. Thus, the big questions I have about Burke are: how his game will translate vs better competition? Considering that it probably would be better for the team if he dominated the ball less can he make that adjustment?

  10. If Drago turned out to be Tyler Cook he'll be one hell of a college player. Cook is a fringe NBA player at this point and probably ends up overseas.
  11. Ok. Let just stick to Year - position - name I'll figure out a tagging system to keep things consistent.
  12. Yeah, weird. I re-indexed and that seemed to clear up the issue.
  13. Thanks I see the issue. Shall have it resolved shortly
  14. Was down for about 24 hours. Had a server error that I couldn't recover from. After banging my head against the wall decided to just spin up a new server and then transfer the site. That went surprisingly well (knock on wood)
  15. I figured we would offer Max Murrell before I got it fixed
  16. Something broke. I actually had to spin up a new server and transfer the site.
  17. TBH I find listing the player's high school/location in the title to be pretty unnecessary. I also find it confusing as we list where the recruit has gone
  18. This is probably like a 9-10 in the Miles era I think.
  19. How is Andrew White not on a roster?
  20. Should we have MAX FOMO @basketballjones?
