  1. Nebraska can't really release any information about Andre as they haven't even identified him as the person who tested positive for Covid. To that point I'm not aware of how sick he might have been or if he was asymptomatic. The sit out period is a set length. I think the rational is that they want to make sure athletes haven't developed myocarditis. Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle which on rare occasions can result in heart attack or stroke. If he had a severe case/reaction, you could see him being physically limited for months.
  2. The weird part is no one decided to Loyer up.
  3. Read today that 6'5" Pius class of 2022 Sam Hastreiter has an offer from Idaho
  4. Quite sure you will just need a shop-teacher's hand worth of fingers to count the number of 3s Derrick Walker will attempt in his college career
  5. The big thing that Umude brings that we don't possess is rebounding so whomever we would need to take out to make the best starting 5. He reminds me of Shavon Shields.
  6. I think we have a video of Jordy on here somewhere where he actually makes a 3pter in practice.
  7. If he was on our roster he'd be in our starting lineup playing 20-30 minutes. that dude brings a lot more to the table than 3 games worth of 3pt shooting statistics
  8. Ed Morrow or Leslee Smith. Smith had 20lbs on both Morrow and Walker
  9. Glad to see we are still on the Gus Bus
  10. Part of the reason they aren't deep is injuries, especially at center. The JUCO center they added, Wylie Howard, is out for the year. They also are without the services of JUCO shooter Jai Clark. Both are JUCO guys so who knows how they translate. Their biggest current loss, literally is their Hatian version of Andre Almeida, 6'8" 300lb Evins Desir. Started last year and shot 55% in the paint. They run a screen and motion offense but their 3pt shooting is pretty suspect. As long as we pack the paint we'll be good and we should score plenty in transition/steals in this one.
  11. Teddy is going to be this year's lightning rod because when we do lose games the first thing that gets looked at is who is taking shots and Teddy is taking shots. We'll see how he holds up in the conference but he's Terran Petteway reborn and I mean that in a good way. Lat brings the shooting and tonight the rebounding we absolutely need from the 4. Ball handling isn't part of the package just yet. We shot 70% from the FT line last night. After last year didn't feel like 50%? The weird thing is that Teddy Allen and Lat Mayen, two guys who shot over 80% from the line last year, are the guys bringing down the team average. Yvan was playing very under-control. His one shot was a 'this shot is going to go in two armed bank against the backboard' and at one point when he got the ball in a crowd he didn't force it up.
  12. He reportedly threw up due to chugging an energy drink before the North Dakota St game. Perhaps for the first night game he threw down some jalapeƱo poppers.
  13. Found something tonight with Stevenson. McGowens is a great defender but it's tough to ask him to lock down on someone the size of Umude
  14. Kobe Webster had 0 assists tonight. On one hand, you want to see a PG on this team pass to people. On the other hand, he basically kept us in the game at the end of the first half with all the foul trouble and choppy play.
  15. Seems like he's struggling, he knows he struggling, and it's compounding things. He has the track record to show what level of player he is so it's really more of a matter of when he might break out of it.
  16. Our identity is pace, space, and contacting transfers
  17. Forgot to mention that Johnny Trueblood is a grad assistant for SD
  18. Hoiball broke KenPom
  19. Steady cagers like the corn boys give bright promise
  20. Also, when looking at the South Dakota game info card I came to realize that Nebraska and South Dakota don't agree on the record in this series. Nebraska has us up 33-5 whereas South Dakota has us up 31-6. It turns out that when I dug into the UNL yearbooks that neither school is right and the record should be 32-5 for Nebraska. Nebraska has a game in 1928 where they list Nebraska over South Dakota when it was South Dakota St. South Dakota has our 1945 matchup as a win for them 32-29 when it would appear they lost that game 52-29.
