uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 9, Ed 9 - Creighton
bobcat402 replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Man I know what offense mcveigh can provide but right now I'd rather see he and gills min go to a combo to Roby/Horne/Taylor, say what you will about Taylor at least he isn't a liability on defense and knows we he isn't, Gill isn't looking to score, makes James Harden look like Bruce Bowen, and scared they daylights out of me when he has a to be a decision maker on offense. I'd like to see them feed Jordy in the post more, mcveigh missed him a few times. Tai is a stud nuff said, wish we could've gotten this one for him -

The touch fouls we get called for, and the ones we don't get on our poessions are becoming quite annoying -
If said players creep up into the top 250 or We exhaust all of options with the level of talent were currently recruiting than i guess, but until than we need to keep recruiting the level of players we've been recruiting, and if they fit what Miles is trying to build.

Saw him and his friend, talking a walk around on the court after the woman's game and before practice, he has a good makeup would fit what Miles is trying to build -
teams are going to make the mistake of leaving Horne, Jacobsen open from three this season, and they are going to pay for it, this much i know.

Jeriah Horne looked really good,as did Roby. Jordy will be the real deal for us this season. Tai looks really comfortable out there as the senior leader and the go to. And my goodness Jack was stroking it.
-
Mostly how our frontcourt plays, just interested to see what we have this year. I have a pretty good notion what we will get out of the 1-3, but frontcourt is a mystery.
-
According to 24/7 sports he has about 10-12 offers from the cream of the crop(gtown, duke, unc, Arizona, and of course LSU)

I was working security for the game, sitting directly behind the twolves bench, that was pretty cool. Got a change to meet Jordy, i'm 6'5 300+ and he made me feel really small, gonna like that guy. After the game got a chance to chat with Bud Crawford, one of the nicest guys ive ever met, you'd never know that he is the world champ, so down to earth.

Lot's of unknowns so its tough to say....development from last years freshman class? Will we be healthy? Can Jordy provide valuable minutes? Will Gill be a double digit scorer(needed)? Is Roby ready for the Big Ten grind? One thing I don't get and I've seen it written several times...is those around the nation questioning the talent level on the roster. I'm guessing not a lot of research goes into that. One thing I will say is...if we can come out of the non-con okay I think our Big 10 schedule sets up very well for us. Two tough road games right off the bat that we will likely go 0-2 in but after that at have a stretch of Iowa, NW, @Mich, OSU, @Rutgers, @NW, Purdue, MSU.....I think we need to find a way to get 5-6 wins in that stretch. And that's doable IMO. yea i dont get the talent level comment either, i get the experience, and they belief that will really miss andrew white (personally i dont think we'll miss him as much as people say considering his propensity to disappear last season)
-
i think Tai is the player much like Benny that leads by his play, no player on this team is going to work harder on defense or be as expressive, he may not provide the verbal leadership of a shields, but i guarantee they'll feed of Tai's energy on both ends.

Write an op-Ed that people were being to loud during the national anthem and what's with all the standing

im all for this form of peaceful demonstration, athletes have a right to voice their opinion on important social issues, and often carry a tremendous platform to effect change. Sports and politics have gone hand in hand since their creation, yes we go to them for distraction but they have always played an important role in social change, and political development. So with that i encourage the three young men that kneeled on Saturday to continue to do, and to continue to encourage discussion and change, and i would encourage any of are wonderful young men on the basketball team as well.

if all three want to come, than you take all three and enjoy the coup of talent we snagged, we can deal with the other scholarship later, id rather over-sign by 1 if the big man wants to come...but that's just me -
I am guilty of some of that for sure. Schematically, I remain disappointed in what he has brought to the table, but great to see he is a much better recruiter than I thought he would be. I didn't know he had that in him. I still think he has it in him to coach the defense better than he has so far. I think this year, the Jimmys n Joes are goin to match up with the X and Os he and Miles have in mind

We need answers!!!! Horne is my dark horse pick!

I hope we get a guy like Nana just so we can field a whole roster of guys 6'6 thru 7'0 that'd be awesome
-
Im not alone is this opinion, but when it's all said in done and if his jump shot stays true, Jeriah is going to play this year and steal some surprising minutes
-
I'm gonna assume those are 9 foot rims

I'm nervously excited for this season, I think it's going to be a special one
