  1. Top 20 player, 5 star, lottery pick, etc. he's two years away from being two years away lol...thats what fran said about dude from brazil that the raptors drafted and he did pretty decent in summer league, and is in the d-league now, favorite qoute from him all time
  2. no...please no... Lets continue to Let Tai and Hammond Develop the senior transfer route is terrible and not a best route, and if you've been following the Recruiting board you know whats in the juco field..ITS NOT GOOD
  3. are we still after that Brandon Walters kid from Walters State, ik people think hes to big, and all he is Andre Lite or Andre before his injuries but that still sounds better than what we currently have..
  4. with more games on TV (Cable, Internet) players dont worry about getting exposure and if you can find a coach that can sell, and scheme a game plan around those players, you can win some ball games.
  5. the defenses we have played certainly muck things up for him, as well as cincy. Hawaii, and Cincy both play a trapping mixture of matchup zone, and LMU played some weird zone, he'll be fine in BIG Ten play when its more man on man and the lane opens up, he can go back to being a And1 Machine
  6. Nobody should ever wish to back in time for nebrasketball , unless its the nee years and even than move on. Its time to embrace the expectations, this is the new Nebraska, we have 3 top 250 recruits, we are not a laughing stock anymore than we used to be, we have a fantastic arena, we played a true road game at Hawaii when no other team elected to start that away, tough losses happen, this isn't rock bottom, rock bottom was some time ago when we couldn't get a soul to come to games, important ones or not. No matter what we think we feel the most important part of the season is upon us next week, conference season, if get our stuff together over Christmas break, and realize what fun basketball is all about and GATA on some teams we'll back in the thick of it playing for wins that matter and forgetting all about 12/22/14, 12/10/14, and 12/7/14. GBR!!
  7. it was an offnight..yeesh
  8. the floor is slick due to the humidity and moisture, they have the same problems in Maui every year.yep, rained hard all day yesterday and was 80 so that makes for some slick floors. Also, when these guys get back from Hawaii, I would lock all the doors to any basketball court they could get to. Might even lock the place tight for 36 hours or so. Tell them to get away from each other, go to a movie, read a book, sleep, anything that will let them reset their basketball brains. Then 6:00 am practice and we go hard and we go long the first minute that lockeroom is unlocked. I think they need to get away for it. What ever it is for each of them. Write down what is wrong with your game and then burn it, go for a long run, call your family, find a slump buster. Whatever each player and coach needs to do to get back on the fast track. agree with this %100, i think sometimes tho cheesy, they lose sight of the lets just have fun part of the game.. when these guys are out there having fun, playing loose we're unbeatable, we tighten up and its over. I could see it on Tai's face, when he is having fun and loose, it has a dramatic affect on Terran he is loose which leads to easier buckets, and less forced shots and heat checks. Walt P, Terran, Tai, and David definite just need a break and to get away, Benny and Shavon are constants there personality are even keel, the other four contributors are more emotional and our the ones that definitively need the break.

  10. - that was a very choppy game, and uneven officiating in the second half, not an excuse but in the first, and part of the second, it was very physical down low, multiple times they swallowed their whistle on both sides, than in the last five minutes they got very touchy with their calls down low. - I love Tai, one of my favorites...but man.. we need something from him in the worst way. - Benny played like one of the only guys who had heart and some intrest in the game. - When Shavon, and Terran are not in their flow and are not hitting shots... its almost a guaranteed lost. - Count me in for the camp that says this teams identity changes when moses is back, and leslee returns - Walter needs to seriously have a deep thought about how he wants to turn his season around over Christmas..or this afternoon, when he isn't hitting his shots he could amp up his physicality on the defense of end with boxing out, not letting his get deep position in the post, on offense go up stronger in the post, take more shots from 10 feet and in, be cleaner on his picks. - I really like the mins Tarin gave us, glimpse of the future. This game similar to the IW game, the cincy game shows how badly we need a classic big man in the middle. I don't know where we are going to find one, or we have to get two different players to make a classic big man but man we got to find one. some of my thoughts
  11. My long forgotten hero?
  12. i liked miles qoute about benny, ive seen those highlights before, and always thought itd be neat to give benny a look in spring ball just to see hey can he do it. Im all for Moses Starting and bringing Walt of the bench, might help.
  13. I would love to have a guy like Maric on this team. +1 or a Elbert Robinson its unfortunate that we couldn't lock that down, he is getting zero PT at LSU right now.
  14. This game completely showed me how valuable an actual post scorer defender to this team would be, and not some 6'8 guy who can bang, a traditional 6'10-7'0 guy we can throw the ball down, slow the game down, and get some simple points, or force some fouls. We need that in this next recruiting class.
  15. Apparently their letting Coach Warren (DB Coach) go on the road and recruit while everyone else stays back, so take take that for what its worth...i think he and maybe Kaz will be retained possibly.
  16. i love it, it immediatly creates a spacing dynamic for shields and petteway, and creates a better match up for our bench. And with it I'm not even saying to play Moses much more than he's playing now. Like Manu Ginobili I think Walt could be deadly off the bench, still getting the lions share of minutes in the post. But by having him off the bench it gives the second unit Tai, Walt, and Tarin some great scoring options. Tai looked way more comfortable in that role has the first guy off the bench, Benny didnt seemed that affected either still just doing benny things that he always does. The Lineup we had out there showed they could hold off a run, induce a secondary run, and than hold a lead, and looked to mesh with the exception of walt, but think i move to the bench may cure that. This allows Terran, and Shavon to get rolling as the primary scorers, Moses, David, Benny to kickstart the defensive identity than your bring the scoring punch in and go for the throat...i like it. How exactly did Tai look more comfortable coming off the bench? He played good the second half but not the first half so don't think coming off the bench had any effect either way. As for the starting lineup, not sure it really had any impact as we still got off to a slow start. We gave up 21 points in the first 5 minutes so not sure how this "new" lineup shows it can hold off a run. Regardless of Benny or Tai starts, we need to find a way to not dig a hole at the beginning of the game and try to crawl out of it or we will lose more games this year than we want to. Omaha shot a ridiculous clip to open, the law of averages caught up to them. and they slowed down. There were at least 2 to 3 Three point shots that were contested or shot from 25 feet plus that went in, just a hot start. Secondly that wasnt the new lineup if you watched, Walt started, Im saying a New lineup composed of Moses, David Rivers, Shavon, Terran, and Benny starting will establish a defensive identity

  19. ive had mixed feelings about Bo for the last two years, i enjoys his passion, his ability to hire staff that go out and find the gems in the dirt ala (Maliek Collins, Kenny Bell, Ameer, ETC.) but when it comes down to it i think its time for a change, When we went up 17-3 i was like maybe we got this...than Gordon hit that run and i was like welp its been fun, the holiday bowl sounds nice. Who that person that leads the change is whether its a unknown, a local hero, or someone with known prestige all situations are plausible.
  20. If we can keep up our current progression, by next year we may develop the beginnings of a student section like that, student sections aren't built over time. Pitt, Kansas, Duke, sometimes Maryland those Student Sections took time to develop and create a reputation, and prestige.
  21. i took some basic psych at dear ole peru, one would say that norm's embarrassment over the background photo may stem from his sometimes embarrassment over his sheer devotion to the NU basketball program where others especially close to him, possibly at work may not share the same sentiment. Or maybe Norm just had a really cool ass dream that beats my dream about pancakes last night out of the water (sidebar: i made pancakes this morning, that's a little thing called "true wish fulfillment"
  22. That's a safe bet. That's like, "We're having a round table discussion about the Governors' race, an unopposed candidate for airport authority, and a sewer bond issue in Gretna." I'm betting the lion's share of that discussion would be around the Governor's race. Just guessing. in your analogy im assuming the sewer issue is Creighton? In your analogy assumption, let me remind you that 1620 is the official station for sewer coverage in Omaha. I'm sure there will be much talk of the 1-2 punch of Cloggs and Drainege. thats some next level analogical discussion dimes. as previous posters have said sharpe and benning have been pretty good so far, and even Bahe has keep his love of Creighton manageable, will see in about month how long this continues.

  24. i began posting here i think about three years ago, mostly out of necessity because i wanted to talk, discuss hear husker hoops, and none of my friends would oblige, and i came to this site during a Google search, other sites that i noticed seemed very clunky and sometimes intimidating; this site even on the old site was very clean, organized and seemed open to new posters, and im very happy to be on this site, listening to people like Norm, nustudent, huskercwg, silverback, the admins, and the first years when sadler was still here and were werent on tv a lot, i liked hearing those post game discussions. I even liked the trolls like Bradguru, icedragon, and others because even though they were insane or just weird in the stuff they said i still found it quite funny. the thing i most appreciate about this site is that the admin allow it to be for the most part free flowing, clean and provide quality information so much so that we've all seen writers use info from this forum. i love this forum and GBR!
