I missed that. We need that for sure. We sure could use another Petteway and Smith. Offensively I got Biggs, Petteway, Sheilds and Smith as our best overall players. With some moxie, hard work and coaching we have to get Webster, Hawkins, Pitch and Ray doing more to make our team more offensive.

Several little crap, phantom calls on us when the game was in the balance. I get really tired of the good teams getting the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully our team keeps fighting and growing. Lots of season left and lots of room for growth for this bunch. Coach 'em up coach !

Tre'Shawn Thurman had 30 last night for Central. His picture in the Herald makes him look like he's in his 20's. Also, Akoy must have a younger brother on the team.

I'd like to see both Nick and Nathan redshirt. If we could pull that off without hurting our team this year, it would be big. I wasn't too disappointed in the point of emphasis hand-checking stuff. It was interesting watching our guys really trying to move their feet and trying to not use the hands. A little disappointed in the stat displays....shows percentages, but not totals. And the individual player stuff only shows points and fouls.

Ok so injuries we have had or are dealing with since the start of practice... Tai--nasty sprained ankle Deverell--not an injury but suspension Rivers--foot Hawkins--concussion and now foot Peltz--continues to recover from last seasons surgery Ray--hip Leslee--continues to battle his knee and bleeds into hamstring problems Shavon--took one scarey fall at the opening practice, sounds all well though....man I hope all is truely fine Wagner--gruesome ankle injury, out for the season with surgery Pitchford--shoulder isuues good stinkin grief !!

Norm, a bit surprised you have Rivers for only 10 a game in light of discussion a week or so ago ?

I just read the two articles from LJS and watched the two videos of Shavon and Nick. Tomorrow night can't get here soon enough. I sure hope lots of people show up and give the team some love.

Very good point Norm. I've tended to forget about David for sure. When I said what I said about Biggs, I wasn't even thinking about David and he's an even better example b/c we know more about him. So yea, full circle...very good example. It seems pretty natural that his minutes will be less this year. That doesn't mean he can't take a step up however and we'd all be thrilled at that.

I don't know if Biggs is my prediction per the original reason for this thread, but he is thee most forgotten man coming into this season it seems.

Yet one more reason to like Cip ! "Gloria" is easily one of my least favorite Van songs.

I wish this meant something a little special for NU (ie --nobody is predicting us and he has it in the back of his head we are his #1). But more likely, he just doesn't know where he is headed yet and therefore nobody should be predicting for him ?

You know I really like the idea of Peltz redshirting. --He will probably not be 100% this year anyway --he will likely not play much this year --therefore another year of a very fine practice player --when healthy, I really believe he can give small spot quality minutes ( solid ball handler, gritty, maybe can gain some confidence in his shot--which looks fine to me). Not saying he will play, but could if needed. You never know with injuries, transfers or any number of things.

Guys, have no fear...look at the first picture and all is well with Leslee. In that second one he is kind of slumping down to one side. Everybody in that second row looks about like they are supposed to look ( height wise ). I looked on the Huskers.com roster the other day and wondered if all the players particulars were up to date.
