  1. The guy we're really missing off this team is one we recruited (again) and didn't get (again) . . . Hunter Sallis, an long, athletic driver as your primary ball handler who also happens to be a lock-down defender. Imaging replacing J-Law with this stat line: We would be a Sweet 16 team at minimum IMHO. But alas, he sought out greener pastures at...Wake Forest?
  2. Tough to say...I'm sure I will be overcome with emotion, but not sure how exactly that will manifest itself. Tears are possible, but the emotions will be complicated because there would be a now bigger game looming in two days.
  3. Gawd, I hope I'm wrong but.... Corn 70 Illini 91
  4. I don't blame CJ for thinking he couldn't miss. At that point I was thinking he couldn't miss too!
  5. I agree with this. They really let the game have a nice flow to it. However, I commented to my wife with about 3.5 minutes left in the 1st half that they hadn't called many fouls (it was 3 on NU & 4 on OSU); they proceeded to call 7 fouls over the next 2 minutes and I believe both teams ended up in the bonus.
  6. I still like us at home... Kitties 69 Corn 73
  7. Everyone hits 3's against our defense.
  8. Anyone else notice UNO dominated the same North Dakota team we needed to rally to beat by 8? Mavs now in 2nd place in the Summit. https://omavs.com/news/2024/1/11/mens-basketball-mavericks-north-dakota.aspx
  9. Is it just me, or is 4-13 against the number 1 team pretty good? Winning almost 25% of the time against the best team in the country has to be well above average. Right?
  10. Yes & yes
  11. I have no animosity, but it would be nice to protect home court and finish at least .500 against him.
  12. Not much to say. Wisky was on their game and I could tell early when they were splashing threes (after hearing they were not a great shooting team) and we were doubling them up in fouls that it would not go our way. I was happy with the way the guys battled and thought they actually played fairly well as a whole. I thought Sam forced things a lot more than usual which led to some uncharacteristic turnovers, and we could have tried some defensive adjustments. Mostly I give credit to Wisconsin for a great gameplan and making tough shots. GBR!
  13. I'm just quoting this because I can't upvote it a second time! CJ has been all class and a breath of fresh air in this transfer portal era where players cut and run at a little adversity instead of working to make their situation better. (Yes, I'm aware of the irony of CJ being a transfer)
  14. Corn 75 Stinking Badgers 73 Bench scorers: 3
  15. There may be seven more teams, but the game is global now. There is so much more talent in the league from Europe, Asia, and Africa that it easily makes up for an extra 7 teams. I watched the league's heyday in the 80s through the Jordan era of the 90s and there is *no* comparison to the talent and athleticism in today's NBA. None. Zero. Now, I'm not a big fan of the way the NBA game is currently played and officiated, but I couldn't be more impressed with the sheer talent on display in that league.
  16. NU's winter semester hasn't started yet though. Wouldn't he just need to enroll somewhere else before their next terms starts?
