  1. 1000% agree on this, except I would make it 10 seconds. Replay should only be used to correct obvious and egregious errors. if you can't tell in 10 seconds what the correct call is, whatever was called should stand. I hate how frequent/long replays disrupt the flow of games just to determine whose fingernail grazed the ball last.
  2. It will be a MASSIVE disappointment if NU does not go 3-0.
  3. There are four guys who will *surely* be in the rotation, five if you use an "or": Williams Gary Morgan Meah Worster OR Ulis For everyone else, I really think it will mainly come down to who is shooting the ball the best. If another five guys are shooting the ball well, Fred won't hesitate to go 10 deep.
  4. Yes, please! His highlights remind me of Isaiah Roby.
  5. The very thought of UCLA in the Big Ten killed him. He was certainly one of a kind.
  6. Pics or it didn't happen
  7. It's not that I lack confidence in Essegian, but I recognize he plays the same position as Williams, and he's not beating B-Will out. I think he'll get a ton of minutes at the 2 & 3, but Griffiths will start to give us more positional size on defense.
  8. I'm giving a two-deep, with each guy only listed once in the position where I think they will log the majority of their minutes: 1 - Worster / Ulis 2 - Williams / Janowski 3 - Griffiths / Essegian 4 - Gary / Frager? 5 - Meah / Morgan * The lack of depth up-front is glaring; we need another guy there. I assume in reality it would currently be a 3-man rotation (Gary/Morgan/Meah) for those 2 spots, much like last year with Mast, Allick, and Gary. If we sign a starting-quality stretch 4, this will need major revisions.
  9. Who is the replacement for Brice Williams in this scenario?
  10. This appears to just mean On3 didn't have much respect for our roster: “On3’s Team Transfer Portal Index utilizes the On3 (P)erformance score to measure a team’s production during the transfer process, compared relative against its roster and not a comparison against other schools. This proprietary algorithm determines if a school has improved its overall team talent, stayed the same, or declined in talent during the transfer window.” Also of note...they list C.J. Wilcher (whom I respect and admire as a person) as a 4-star transfer, so take those rankings with a grain (or heaping spoonful) of salt.
  11. Not to get into semantics, but "definitely coming back next year" is not the same as will be playing next year. I would "definitely come back" too if I needed knee surgery and could have DONU pay for it.
  12. Are those his averages per 40 minutes? Otherwise, 5 rebounds & 1 block per game in only 7 minutes would be incredible! (and coaching malpractice for not playing him more unless he also averaged 4.5 fouls)
  13. I don't understand this POV at all. I would take Hawkins in a heartbeat and thank my lucky stars that we landed him! He's freaky athletic, good shooter, and plays with a motor. What's the downside?
  14. He's also a "sneaky athletic," gritty, shooter, with a high basketball IQ so fits the profile of our recent transfers.
  15. This is *very* disappointing. Would have been a perfect fir for that Allick role and was a Nebraska kid too. He probably got a big bag to play for one of the real bluebloods so it's hard to blame him. I hope he has much success out there.
  16. I only watched A&M play one time last year, but they sure looked a lot better ant the 342nd best 3pt shooting team to me!
  17. Looks like a poor man's Tominaga to me. I'm sure he can see himself in that role here which must be pretty appealing. I'd take him in a heartbeat!
  18. Or we could just sign another PG and hope he can take a hint?
  19. I don't imagine they promised him anything, but I'm guessing he was told (true or not) they expect him to get significant minutes. I doubt Fred would go that far because he is clearly trying to recruit over everyone except Brice, Gary, and maybe Mast. I do think they will be bad next year though.
  20. He probably has a better shot to play at Penn State. Look at it this way...how likely would he have been to start or get significant minutes here based on who we are bringing in? He'd probably have been no better than the 4th option for 2 wing spots. I'm assuming Fred was just honest with him about his likely role and he decided to seek out more PT.
  21. 1. William Kyle III 2. William Kyle III 3. William Kyle III 4. William Kyle III If saying the same name 3 times doesn't improve the odds of landing him, then I'll go with this: 1. William Kyle III 2. Igor Milicic (I'm assuming Mast is out next year) 3. A big time shooter who knows his role. 4. Matar Diop . . . more specifically a big athletic project who doesn't expect minutes and can give you a good look on the scout team. (I'm assuming this player will transfer out no matter what unless you catch lightning in a bottle) * I thought about getting a lock-down defender, but I'm thinking our defense will take a big jump just because we are adding a lot more length and athleticism to the scheme.
