  1. There may be seven more teams, but the game is global now. There is so much more talent in the league from Europe, Asia, and Africa that it easily makes up for an extra 7 teams. I watched the league's heyday in the 80s through the Jordan era of the 90s and there is *no* comparison to the talent and athleticism in today's NBA. None. Zero. Now, I'm not a big fan of the way the NBA game is currently played and officiated, but I couldn't be more impressed with the sheer talent on display in that league.
  2. NU's winter semester hasn't started yet though. Wouldn't he just need to enroll somewhere else before their next terms starts?
  3. Could it foretell a potential transfer at semester's end?
  4. I think part of the decision nowadays comes down to whether it is worth it to potentially hurt your MOV metric by fouling for a very small chance to win the game.
  5. They did not announce it. I only knew at the time because my buddy said they didn't give us the point for CJ's FTs, then I checked Twitter to find out the goaltending call was reversed during the media timeout.
  6. That 2nd half was the most embarrassing half of Nebraska basketball I can remember watching, and that is saying A LOT considering the context of Nebraska basketball. I had high hopes for this team, but I did not previously understand the impact the loss of Griesel and Walker would have on this year's team. There was no fire or pride on display last night. They looked great when things were going good then folded like a dollar store lawn chair at the first sign of adversity; Sam and Derrick would never have allowed that to happen. It would be nice if the head coach could instill that in his players instead of hoping we get great player-leaders each year. Instead of a fun winter on the bubble, it looks likely there will be a long, cold winter of coaching speculation...
  7. They were hitting them when the game was still competitive and it mattered though.
  8. Very disappointed in the game plan and effort. Add in atrocious reffing, which made things even worse and affected our momentum early when the game was still competitive, and you have the perfect recipe for a blowout. Fred always said the guys will always give great effort, but in the last 10-12 minutes we seemed to quit and CU kept playing. That is what ballooned their lead from 20 to 30. I did not understand the game plan at all defensively. I get that our guys are drilled in a system, and as much as possible we want to “do what we do” and force the other team to adjust, but it didn’t take a genius to figure out what CU wants to do is exactly what our system gives up, especially with the personnel we have running it this year. I can’t believe there was no plan to adjust once CU started hitting open 3s. Just inexplicable! All that said, the thing I was MOST disappointed with was Trev Alberts and the athletic administration allowing students in BLUE to occupy the entire front row in the baseline student section for the second consecutive year (at home). It is an embarrassing look for the program and should have been easy to anticipate and prevent. If you didn’t want to simply tell them to move, then you could have blocked off the first couple of rows and directed students that actually support their school to those seats. Instead, CU gets a boost because the students they can see from their bench are blue front and center. It was disgusting and an absolute FAILURE by Alberts and his team to allow something I have never seen at another program to happen for a second time.
  9. Do you mean the halftime show or the game? Or, more likely, both?
  10. It was frustrating to see some sloppy play yesterday, especially the big letdown in the second half. There should have been a much bigger margin at the end! However, I need to temper my frustration with knowing we are missing our best offensive and best defensive players, guys which represent half of our returning production from last year. Them being out certainly hurts our production on the floor, but probably is a bigger hit to the culture/cohesiveness that was established last year. Hopefully, getting them back will allow this team to show what it can really be.
  11. Corn 91 Snakes 50 (I REALLY wanted to pick 106 - 53, but just couldn't do it)
