  1. Has Griffiths proven more though? With the money Rutgers had to spend in the offseason, there is a reason they let him walk. I was excited when he transferred here because I was also going off of the games he played against NU last year, but we apparently only brought out the best in him when he is on the other team. Rice appears to have done more with fewer opportunities. Since both seemed to get lost on defense, I would much rather be bringing Rice off the bench for his shooting and versatility attacking the basket than what I've seen from GG this year. I think Rice just got bad advice or had delusions of grandeur if he transferred to another P5 and expected to start...probably should have transferred to a mid-major for more PT. Griffiths: Rice:
  2. This makes we wonder if the question instead should have been "who would you rather have Eli Rice or Gavin Griffiths?" Eli basically hasn't played at all for PSU this year, but seemed to have a nice upside during his one year in Lincoln. Whereas Gavin his been underwhelming (to say the least) for NU.
  3. These highlights with Kent's call are great...
  4. Yeah, I was just looking at the NET ranks without looking up the quad cutoffs and thinking of avoiding any Q3 or Q4 losses since that was such a positive for our resume last year. After checking...Minny, Rutgers and USC are the 3 we have to beat at home and probably need to beat UW on the road. Other than that, getting to .500 in B1G games should be enough to be in comfortably.
  5. There's really only a couple remaining chances to take a horrible loss...home games against Southern and Minnesota and maybe at Washington. I kind of expect a letdown after the Hawaii tournament, but I hope I'm wrong and the guys realize the importance of going out and beating the brakes off Southern; it's our last chance to impress the computers before getting into the B1G meat grinder.
  6. This is an excellent point I also wanted to make. Our guys have done a great job of closing games, making games that are close going into the last 4 minutes not so close at the end. It demonstrates a resolve that I've rarely seen out of Husker teams in the past and can't be understated because I expect them to be in *a lot* of close games in conference play. Last night, they turned a game that was basically a 2 possession game the entire time into a 12 point win in the final minutes (it helps that OSU inexplicably fouled with 9 seconds left). That 6-8 point swing is big for our confidence, perception, and most importantly our metrics.
  7. 33-13 isn't 50 games though, which was the point of his post. Jacob Bigelow posted the 37-13 stat last night, so I assumed it was accurate.
  8. This could be a smart financial move for the kids... Get paid your NIL for signing out of HS get told you're redshirting enter transfer portal sign with another school get paid again before playing a second of college ball or using any eligibility
  9. Literally!
  10. I'd probably pick anyone else to beat DONU in this situation, but Fred seems to own IU so...it's a get-right game! Corn 75 Hoosiers 71
  11. With a full week off before the next game, I imagine they will play it safe and hold him out against MSU. He's too important to risk a setback that could derail his entire season when another week of healing is there for the taking.
  12. Yes, but unless I'm misinterpreting what was posted, the stats he cited are from this year and don't include any Big Ten teams.
  13. Apples to oranges until Connor's sample includes a bunch of Big Ten opponents.
  14. Fair point, but North Florida was also one of the worst defenses I have ever seen come through DONU.
  15. Isn't this at least partly due to the fact we had more options to shoot those 3's last year? We had 3 other guys that could get hot and give you 4 or 5 threes in a game last year.
  16. I'm just re-posting this instead of using different words to say the exact same thing as the reasoning for my vote.
  17. Corn 75 Spartans 69 13 conference wins
  18. Jack McVeigh had one a few years back. I don't recall any others off the top of my head.
  19. In case anyone wants some comic relief, the collective freak-out on here is (chef's kiss)... https://www.bluejayunderground.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6207
