  1. Kofi Cockburn and Marcus Carr might be starter quality. They'd have to earn their spots, of course.
  2. Good for him, but that hurts. I know, I know, we've got a lot of talent coming in, but it would be nice to start off a year with some returning experience. The Torvik predicto-meter drops from 58 to 77 with him gone. https://barttorvik.com/rostercast.php?run=1&team=Nebraska&player=-Dalano%20Banton%3BNebraska
  3. Sounds more like the fugly side of gambling.
  4. He's awfully old to be taking on that job, but maybe they'd just want him as a caretaker until they find somebody else. They should rename the Athletic Department the Drama Department.
  5. He might learn to drive over 60 in the left lane on the Interstate.
  6. That's the way I feel about it. Bring the payments out in the open and abandon the idea that major college sports are somehow part of an academic endeavor. Football and basketball are minor league systems for the NFL and NBA. In addition, NIL will open the door to what the top kids should be doing: majoring in sports. They should learn how to market themselves, take care of their money, invest and live healthy lives. And when their playing careers are over, then can transition into coaching, running training programs and marketing younger athletes. A lot of smart athletes are doing these things already. MJ, LeBron, (the late) Kobe are easy examples, but there are a lot of lesser players who have parleyed their careers and short-time high salaries into rewarding lives later.
  7. How could we lose with this Dream Team? The roster was made up of former collegiate stars in Joey King (Minnesota), Dominique Jones (Fort Hays State), Kareem Maddox (Princeton) and Robbie Hummel (Purdue).
  8. They have practically zero experience returning, a new starter at PG and it's a road game for them. We'll win easily.
  9. Don't forget my favorite!
  10. I've been waiting for years for the 12 oz. curl to be added to Olympic weightlifting.
  11. Here's CBSSports' top committed transfers, neither of our guys on it: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ranking-college-basketballs-top-committed-transfers-arizonas-james-akinjo-heading-to-baylor/
  12. Somebody want to attach random stars to ESPN's top 100 and then compile team ratings? https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/insider/story/_/id/30820857/college-basketball-transfer-rankings-2021-22 Start your own websites and make millions!
  13. Good for Ayo. Ed Chang didn't so squat except when Ayo was his PG.
  14. Hansen's done a good job of putting together rosters, but I don't think he's a great coach. They've been 200+ in KenPom 3 of the last 4 years, while other Summit teams seem to be able to do a lot better, and some with Nebraska players. His teams have been horrible on defense, 250+ for the last 5 years, and they're undisciplined on offense. On the other hand, Omaha doesn't have the money to go looking for a new coach ...
  15. I get what he COULD provide, just not sure he plugs in right away to start. Delano was a pretty good player pre-Covid and that version might be hard to beat out. Guess we'll see.
  16. I'm a little surprised at how CJ is getting penciled into a starting spot. He left Xavier because of playing time, so not sure how he pushes past Banton and Kobe. A guy who got 10 minutes a game at Xavier is better than guys who got 20+ here and know the system? I know he's younger and can improve, but it just seems strange to assume he's starting. And no, I don't think Fred would start him just to lure his brother.
  17. I would be incredibly disappointed if we don't at least make the NIT.
  18. SJS is a tough job, a perennial also-ran in a conference that takes hoops seriously. Guess he can get even with NM for picking Pitino.
  19. We could do worse. We've proven that a number of times when making changes in the athletic department.
  20. Do you know that for a fact or are you just speculating?
  21. I would guess that Few's pitch was: "We'll plug you into Jalen Suggs' spot. You're a perfect fit." As soon as I saw Suggs play this year, I figured Hunter was going to the Zags. Very similar skills, physiques. Funny that his announcement date came right ahead of this weekend's game. Looks like large quantities of blue Tums will be consumed.
  22. I saw a feature on him earlier. He went to Rutgers for engineering, now going elsewhere for graduate degree. This is the way the system should work.
  23. Losing some big pieces through graduation too. Lon's leaving at a good time.
