  1. The game was lost when Wisconsin pushed it to 16 to start the second half. Lots of bad shots from Lat and Verge in that time span. Lat air balled layups, and no that's not an exaggeration. Verge was pulled with about 10 left and never got back in. I'm going Saturday, but mainly so I can hit up Longwells after. I got no in depth analysis other than I hate brad Davison. I love the rest of the Wisconsin team though! Johnny Davis is one of my favorite players in the big ten and I've on record for being a massive Chucky guy. Wahl plays bigger than he is and Crowl kinda impressed me. Davison ruins it all. I'm so ready to never see his face again
  2. They didn't do the drum before tip. I hope they throw that idea far away
  3. I was able to get in garage 2 fairly easy.
  4. This place is bare with 5 minutes till tip.
  5. This was probably the nail in the coffin for abdelmassih for me. His message might've not been completely incorrect (landing out of state kids primarily), but the way it's being delivered is "my shit doesn't stink" despite having the worst 3 year stretch in husker bball history whole you spearheaded recruiting. Lack of self awareness. I know Nate has been out recruiting at games, has Matt?
  6. It can go one of two ways now. That way or a complete team fracture. Hopefully trey coming back helps for the former.
  7. I'm very optimistic about him next year. I am ready for him to get to campus. He's coming from a winning program so hopefully he brings some of that with him Rest of the roster TBD.
  8. in my eyes, this helps illustrate why the season has gone how it has to date. We don't go on runs consistently and we give up a high rate of runs. If you look behind us it's Missouri, who of you've followed has had just as bad a season as us. Think back to all the games where we seemingly go on a run but all of a sudden we give up 2 more scoring runs. Last few close losses have exhibited this in the last few possessions. OSU, Illinois, and Indiana all ended on a scoring run in some fashion. Might be nothing, but I found it interesting
  9. Lots to unpack in your post OP and some may hold some weight. But the bottom line for me is regardless of what has happened to this point, year 3 was supposed to be when this thing took off. We shouldn't be winless in conference in year 3. I do think there's some games they win in conference, but you can't start off 0-8. Would we be in a different situation if Banton stayed or they were informed earlier on his decision so they could get someone other than Verge? Possibly. I would've really liked this team with him, but alas here we are. No one on the team is shooting above 30% from 3 outside of Kobe, Keisei, and CJ. Now, I do think those are our best 3 shooters on the team, but some of the 3s we shoot as a team are bad shots. From Verge to Bryce to Lat across the board. It's not been consistent. A lot of that is generating good looks from sets (whether it be running a set lazily or someone going solo. I point out Keisei having to shoot off 1 foot from 3 last game as an example as a set ran lazily and Keisei had to improvise) or bad shot selection, it's gross. Fred hasn't gotten it done in year 3 for what's supposed to be his best team to date. Like I said, I do think some things break our way here soon (more out of basketball gods just being kind to us for once). The reason the team is the way it is starts at the top. I believe Fred being "unemotional" is a bit overstated however. I've been to every game this year but 1, and he isn't animated like Underwood, but he has command of the sideline from where I'm sitting. Issue is, from some effing reason, his team can't figure it out late in games. We can point to a few reasons, but it's 3 years into his tenure. He will inevitably get one and maybe 2 more years, but it has more to do with the financial aspect.
  10. The lift every voice song is great and I see no issue with it. The drum however borders on cringe. I have been to 90% of games this year and they threw it in like the second or third game and I hated it from the jump. Props to the hype guy to trying something new, but it isn't working. I hope this is the last year we see that godforsaken drum lol
  11. Very eye opening interview. I'm sure this was discussed in house after the fact and it opened up a lot of conversations that probably should've happened before. I have an idea of the guys he's referring to about receiving criticism and who he's telling the coach to hold accountable as I'm sure everyone else does.
  12. They've played zone in games this year. I remember the purdue game specifically as one that it looked semi competent in. Last game they mixed it in also. I think it works in certain situations, but it's not something that they can stick with for long stretches.
  13. Next year he will likely. Needs to be honestly and they'll close games with him at the 5 I imagine. But IF Walker comes back (it's a discussion, no pro aspirations) you have two bigs who can make an argument to start and Oleg. Andre would be 2/3 in that pecking order, and he probably wants to start. Rightfully so
  14. Andre piece is a bit interesting, but not shocking imo. He was a very late add and they seemingly recruited over him with Wilhelm. Remember, Wilhelm was getting a bulk of the backup big minutes before Andres "breakout game" like the third game of the year. I personally am interested in him next year, especially if Walker comes back. Walker and kieta would be the top two in the rotation assumedly. If Walker bounces, that will be a different discussion. I've been critical of Andre throughout the season, think his hands aren't great and he's foul prone, but he's impressed me of late. I thought he outperformed Walker last night for example. His decision into next year I'm watching.
  15. Ive had that feeling for a few games now. Rutgers and IU. Obviously didn't go our way. Trey coming back may help, but I am just going in expecting disappointment
  16. Agreed on all counts completely. All I can do right now is enjoy basketball lol.
  17. I'm just a basketball fan, so I'm just going to enjoy watching it in person since I wasn't afforded that opportunity last year. I'm rooting for for the young men to continue to get better at the game they have an opportunity to play. Nothing's good right now, and I hate losing as much as anyone. Is what it is right now, all you can do is find a silver lining and stay positive As far as who's around next year, we (or @Norm Petersonsince you did it last offseason) can start a thread on the potential lineup going into next year. One thing to remember, Wilcher and Keon have both already used their "free transfer" so they'd have to get a waiver or sit a year.
  18. Probably trying to get him ramped up, but yeah. That needs to be an adjustment if the same thing happens again. That's twice in 3 games now Verge has done this.
  19. I forgot what winning feels like. -Played good enough to win. Both McGowens missed open 3s that could've made it a one possession game. -Walker had an off game by his standards. Really thought Andre played tough. -two straight possessions we wasted with verge driving recklessly to the rim with under 3 left -Forcing turnovers works, but you can't turn the ball over at the same time. We only had 1 less TO than IU. -Trey was good with his on the ball pressure I thought. Didn't try to do too much in his first game back. OSU wants revenge probably, so go fishing on Saturday.
  20. Watched him in warm ups and he can get up. If his defense is real he'll be an asset next year imo
  21. Love what Trey is bringing right now. Play some defense in the second half and we might have a legit chance They're at 60+%. Can't happen
  22. Bingo. Now we're stuck with one extremely cold hand that is being exploited. But he's the only option unless you want to play Keon. CJ plays there, but can't be against every team
