Regarding Keisei, one thing I've noticed that could limit him playing the point is that he does not use his right hand to pass the ball or shoot it for that matter. He seems to dribble fine with his off hand however. Having said this, I don't see him filling this role.

At least Andre was hustling on the play which can't be said about Bryce.

Shut Up Sipple! - Why Fred Should have at least 5 years
hugh42 replied to NUdiehard's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
There is no doubt that we shouldn't be where we are in year 3 under Fred, but I'm curious who those upperclassmen would be? In part due to the extra covid year, we could have the following players still here: Akol Arop Kevin Cross Cam Mack Shamiel Stevenson Dachon Burke Samari Curtis Jervay Green Yvan Ouedraogo Thor Thorbjarnarson Delano Banton Teddy Allen Elijah Wood Of this group, the biggest loss IMO was Banton who left on his own. Curtis did as well. Some sent themselves packing. Cross is the one player I wish we would have kept as his game has developed and I think he would have fit in well with this team. Who else would have been better fits than who we currently have on the roster? -

Looking to make more than just the simple play. -
I know I'm not supposed to get excited until these guys get here and put on a Husker uniform and actually do something against B1G competition, but damn it...despite the current state of our program under Fred, I want to see these guys playing together next season.

You can call it an agenda, but I viewed it as trying to give an accurate depiction of fan interest at the time. Attendance used to be reported by the turnstile, then the university changed to reporting attendance by tickets sold and there isn't any debating as to why. It looks better on paper, but I don't know who they think they are fooling.

Not to nit pick, but 2 out of 7 isn't near half of the time and that 19 win season was with a 6-14 conference record, which put us in the bottom four of the B1G and is where his team's resided in every other season that we didn't finish in the top 4. If his teams would have finished in the middle of the pack a couple of those years, he probably would still be here. I thought Tim was a good hire at the time (I thought Doc and Collier were good hires at the time as well) but I also thought it was the right move to move on from him. Having said that and as others have already said, I never thought in my wildest dreams that we would be where we are today under Hoiberg. Absolutely unbelievable.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of this. If he returns, Andre probably leaves with Keita coming in.

I don't see either one coming back next year, especially Trey. I think the McGowen's plan from the get go was one year together and then go pro. I think they said as much on one of their podcasts. Walker is old and I can't imagine he wouldn't want to get paid for playing basketball. -
Nebraska (6-15) vs Michigan (10-8) game thread

'Trey's still getting back up to speed' might not be about his foot/endurance. Since he's been back he has forced the issue on offense on multiple occasions and did so again last night. He's trying to do too much at times, much like Verge and I think that may be why they both remained on the bench down the stretch. -

Missed Bryce for a layup. Also didn't stop the ball on the other end of floor. -

Agree. I like Kobe but he's not a power 5 player. -

As Crush78 said, Keita has been out for most of the season due to injury if I'm not mistaken. Keita appears to have the skill set that opponents will have to account for inside on offense, as well as he appears to be a good rebounder. Not sure how much of a rim protector he is, but his size alone should help in that regard. I know this class doesn't have the star power of the current class, but I think it could be better in the long run (provided everyone still comes and stays more than a year). Lloyd plays against very good competition and more than holds his own. I think he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder as I think he isn't getting the respect he feels he deserves. I just hope he keeps his head down and continues to do his 'talking' on the court and not on twitter. I think Husker fans are viewing Lawrence as just a shooter, but I think his game is pretty well rounded. Watched a full game of his from last season and yes he can shoot from deep, but he also can take people off the dribble as well. Very good handles too. Dawson may be my favorite. He can shoot, is a great athlete and apparently gives great effort. I'm hopefully optimistic about this group. To be frank, it's the only thing that is giving me any hope about the men's program at the moment. -

I agree the TOPG are too high, but the majority of his TO's are not when he's dribbling. He has very good handles, just forces things too much. -

Agreed. Not only is he the best on the team at generating assists, he's far and away our best ball handler. -

As someone else mentioned, what really hurt us was Kobe going 0-10 from the field. To be honest, Kobe shouldn't have been going to the line to shoot 3 as the foul (if it really was a foul) occurred on the floor, not in the act of shooting. -
