  2. I like this class as well and agree that last year's class was overrated, but that is with the benefit of hindsight. Regarding Keita and the way he runs, I think that is just the way he runs. I would agree that he looks like an old man when he's moving up and down the court, but he didn't seem hindered by the injury when he was posting up. I'm hoping that the coaching staff at Coffeyville were just being cautious as to how they were utilizing him and that it wasn't related to the injury. Regarding Dawson, he may be raw but he has something that you can't teach and that is above average athleticism. That combined with his motor will get him on the floor just for his defense. His highlights from this past summer where he was going against better competition gives me hope that his offensive game is progressing and eventually will be a solid contributor on offense as well. Having said this, I'm in the show me camp as well regarding the newcomers and the team in general.

  4. I don't think it would have made any difference. It appeared most of the pundits outside of Nebraska covering the B1G had their minds made up that it would be Branham or Hepburn.
  5. I can't recall where I read it, but ball handling is something that Denim apparently needs to work on, plus he's more of a wing. McPherson appears to be in line to play the point going forward.
  6. Despite his struggles Verge has been far and away our best ball handler the entire season and it's not even close. So from this perspective, yes.
  7. So are you saying that this team was good enough to finish in the upper half of the conference since that's where all of the teams you listed besides NU finished?
  8. Not getting good vibes from the pundits at BTN and I won't be surprised if Branham ends up winning.
  9. Actually Chucky only missed one FT but I get your point. Watching the replay of Chucky's missed 3, he was starting to run back down the court to celebrate his second game winner in a row. Thankfully for us it didn't go.
  10. JMO, but I wouldn't use last year as a baseline. Walker was out for an extended time to start the season then Covid hit and the team is shut down for 3 weeks. Last year was unlike any season we have ever seen and probably won't see anything like it again. Heading into this season we looked to have key pieces returning then Banton goes pro. We scramble and manage to land Verge who isn't a true point guard, but very talented with the ball in his hands. Season starts and Trey goes down for an extended period of time, then Breidenbach is lost for the season... I certainly don't like the record at this point under Fred and the product we have seen for most of this season has not been good, but we have seen the last few games how Fred wants his teams to play. It's damn fun to watch and I want to see more.
  11. Yep, that was a short line up out there. Did okay though.
  12. I hardly post in game threads. And that was a nice pass by Verge. Happy?
  13. Take a chill pill. Just referring to the show boat pass in the lane.
  14. Chuck Taylor didn't pose a hypothetical, he provided statistics comparing the two. Considering Bryce is essentially our #1 option on offense and Branham is OSU's #2 option at this point, to me, it's not as clear cut as us Husker fans might think. Both are deserving IMO and both will have an opportunity tonight to further make their case. I'll add that Branham is the reason we didn't beat OSU the first meeting and has come up big in other conference games that were W's (at Illinois comes to mind) for OSU.
