  1. So, as a teacher in an inner-city area, might I recommend that your friend looks for fiction books that have protagonists that are people of color? In other words, not just sports books. It can be very beneficial to read books where they are able to more closely associate with the main character, on things that touch issues they are going through or can relate to. There's a lot of research on this and it's pretty interesting, but sad (because of lack of options) topic. Most books that African American students are given to fulfill some kind of "see, we're giving you books about other African Americans," quota, are all biographies about athletes, civil rights leaders, or time pieces on slavery. There's more and better options out there for reading. And before anyone gets upset - I very much respect and love what your friends have done, and are looking to do. Good on them. I am only offering an alternative suggestion, with zero judgement. I just have a lot of experience and knowledge of this area and its issues.
  2. I think you guys are forgetting how $$$ Sadler was on some BOBs in late-game situations. He also had some great sets for lay-ups - specifically one for Diaz - in late-game situations.
  3. Have you seen my checking account?
  4. Poor man's Ben Simmons?
  5. He's a 2 or 3 at the next level. Unless he wants his next level to be NAIA or D2 where he would be a 4 or 5.
  6. What kind of stinks is asking “what if we just got lucky on selection Sunday?” And maybe we’re in the NCAA tournament, win or lose a game, I bet everyone’s pretty content right now.
  7. Headline: Xavier is NOT N
  8. This guy has some (some good) bad influences in his ear, fwiw.
  9. What it's like coaching Lebron's manipulative, childish, drama-queen ass in one picture.
  10. This would suck. But it's college basketball and it happens. It's the key players we can't afford to lose year after year that is the concern.
  11. I’ve seen him live, he’s really good.
  12. The Cheesecake Factory is fine dining for Lincolnites.
  13. Agreed. But, strictly as far as head to head goes restaurants wise.........
  14. Steak n Shake and Chick-fil-A? Win, win.
  15. Great football name
  16. Man, I got emotional listening to that. Feel for the kid. Kinda sounds like he got a raw deal... obviously only getting his side of the story, but it sure seems to me he was getting the signals that he was gonna be a main rotation guy, the bang - bench.
  17. One of the darkest days of the program.
  18. Will Nick Fuller re-graduate transfer back? That’s the real question.
  19. What's his thing? A friend of mine says he's masterful at making kids play/think they're a lot better than they actually may be. Said he also runs some pretty creative/tricky sets (but that's just a bonus and I imagine his success is much more foundational than cool sets).
  20. But, IMO, we kinda did do something special this year. It was a good year, I had a ton of fun and enjoyed watching our team. I have put a caveat on all of this, of course, and that is a mass exodus of players.
  21. I'm fully on board with what you're saying and with Coach Miles - hence the OP. I was just referring to Sam implying this was not a legit topic. And I highly disagree. I talk husker basketball all day with many people... it's certainly in the air. Consensus I am getting is people want him gone after next year if we don't do anything special.
  22. I'm friends with some coaches who do the MEB Camps with him over the summer, but I don't know him personally or if there's an answer to that question. But personally, I wouldn't if I were him... I'd keep riding the levels as a head coach.
  23. I think that's pure speculation. JMHO
