Good - McVeigh, Watson, Morrow, Jacobsen. This is the foundation of our program. Keeping these guys around and keeping them happy, healthy, and motivated is paramount to our success under TM. Shavon Shields should see things open up for him if other guys step up. Hammond looked serviceable. Bad - What I had gathered/worried about AW is correct. Fuller continues to disappear. We can't shoot. Offensive transition/point guard decision making in transition (make or miss) is my favorite part of the game and the area I'm most critical on, and we're not great here. Indifferent - I don't think Webster can do what he did in Spain against D1 guys and the Big 10. He was taking advantage of smaller, weaker, less athletic defenders on his way to the paint... That's my hypothesis anyways. I've always felt a PG's offensive ability is more important than his defensive ability - I think Watson has to see as much minutes than Benny at the point.

You weren't wrong in these observations. That thing you saw that bugged you is poor spacing, indecisiveness, and lack of hard second action on screens/cuts. And possibly more importantly, poor transition lanes with poor decisions being made in make or miss transitions opportunities. I'm going into my 4th season harping on these things so I don't think it's stuff that's gonna change. We're clearly going to be a team who relies on great defense, individual play-makers, and clever crunch time sets I suppose. BUUUUUT - I could be also doing my typical "making a mountain out of a molehill," and maybe it was just our first game of the summer with new kids. Who knows?!?!?!?

I would say as far as immediate impact goes, absolutely (if he's healthy). He basically has to, we're too thin at the post position so he has to play. Jacobsen will play too.

Greatest impact now or in the future? Because Aurora is on to something, just don't know if it will be this season as far as biggest impact immediately.

Guys who aren't being heavily recruited might have a greater desire just to win and, therefore, more of a tendency to play defense on the AAU circuit. Just a guess.I can just imagine some 4-star kid from Cleveland telling one of the Bison guys, "C'mon, man, this is AAU. Why're you guarding me like that?" Probably true as Nebraska kids likely play for 'team' over me, myself & I.Yeah, that must be why the amount of Nebraska AAU teams about doubles every summer. Nebraska kids have just as selfish motives for hopefully playing in college as kids do from any other state. Don't recall calling players from other states selfish, so not sure where that came from, honestly. "Team ball" is harder to accomplish in an AAU setting, IMHO; Nebraskans seem to have that part figured out better than many... obviously it's a generalization on my part. I believe Crayton is doing an overseas trip, too; and the Omaha media has had a few practice reports. I saw a few tweets...apparently their whole roster is now littered with all-americans and super human athletic freaks. This will be the sixth straight season that "they've never had a roster" like this before. Hopefully Miles will allow some of the LJS guys to watch...wouldn't mind a few updates on how the young guys look. Well, not to offend the rational sensibilities of this board, but... They do look pretty good.

For Nebraska having bad basketball and being an unrecruitable state, we sure are kicking some rear end this summer of the AAU circuit. At a minimum, we're very competitive.

I think you will see a much better team. How much better the record gets is still up for debate as the schedule is tougher. Agreed that we might be a better team to watch, but record wise, yeah... Might still not be much of a difference.

What about Michael Johnette? Played for NU, currently at IWCC. Would probably bring along Thik Bol with him, who has unlimited potential to be a stud. Similar to Ed Morrow, but better shooter, longer, just skinnier by quite a bit.

Anyone catch the clip around the 2:05m mark in his 2nd video on YouTube where he clearly double dribbles and the dude in the crowd screams, "That's a double dribble!!" Haha, just thought that was funny
