Completely agree but remember that humans with built in bias' program and populate the assumptions used in these computer models. i strongly suspect the computer rankings are not capturing past collapses but hey, maybe these computers are based off artificial intelligence and are smarter than we give them credit for! -

Perhaps they are accounting for the long losing skids that has accompanied the end of the last few seasons and are expecting the other shoe to drop at any moment! Most of us here strongly suspect that isn't going to happen but those who aren't invested nearly as heavily in Nebrasketball and seldom watch a Nebraska game likely just think we are on a nice, cute little run that will end very soon based on past performance. -
I commend the University for the position they took. The easiest thing in the world would be to censor and expel this individual for the ideological hatred he spews (caveat - expulsion should be considered for the violent threats). However, what would this solve? Now that the guy has had his 15 minutes of fame, silencing him would bring out the lunatic fringe from all over the country to descend on Lincoln, Nebraska as we've seen play out in other parts of the country. Sometimes you can't just put your head in the sand and ignore these types, especially when they are now front and center on your own campus. The best way to counteract these types of people is through dialogue, education, and peaceful counter demonstrations. Then, let this person graduate or go on his way and continue leading a miserable life. Huge kudos to the basketball team for making a united, peaceful front!

Nebraska on the Selection Committee Board

We have moved into 9 brackets on Bracket Matrix and now are listed 2nd among the "next four out". Slow and steady wins the race, even if it's painfully slow! -

I am very thankful that Bill Walton does not call Big 10 games. -

I don't know. I think you have a good point when it may be too early to tell. I think in the here an now we want Az St. However, they have been sliding and not playing good basketball. They have alternated wins and losses over their last 10 games. Their upcoming schedule is USC, UCLA, Arizona, @Oregon. With the way they are playing, its not inconceivable for them to lose all 4 of these games or three out of four, which likely slides them right onto the bubble. So, these debates and bubble games are fun as hell to watch and discuss but in reality Miss Cleo is dead and you can't predict how the rest of the season will play out. So someone we may want to win tonight, we may have the exact opposite mindset in a couple of weeks. Nebraska being relevant this year has turned me into a much bigger college hoops fan this season because I sure as hell wouldn't normally care who wins this game or Marist vs. Saint Peter on a random Thursday night!!! -
Well, I found this exceptionally interesting and not surprising at all. For those of you that follow the Vegas lines, Nebraska has been on an incredible roll against the spread. Nebraska is 18-6 against the spread and those 18 wins lead the country, with Xavier checking in 2nd with 17 wins. So, we should be a #1 or #2 seed, right?!?! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really hope there is a degenerate on the committee because this is strong proof that we are much better than the so called "experts"/"sharks"/"general betting public" give us credit for!!! http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-basketball/against-the-spread/

Thanks again for doing this...curious your perspective on why we want USC vs. Az St.? My opinion is that we would strongly want Az St. since they are more firmly in the field around an 8/9 seed where USC is on a lot of first four in/next four out lists. This would also be a huge Tier 1 road win for USC and with a loss, Az State won't slide out of most brackets. Just want to hear your thoughts as you typically have some differing takes. -

Actually, in my opinion, I can't find much fault with how Lunardi has this. We're only three slots below them so it's not like they are an 8 seed and we're in the first four out. They have 1 more top 50 win, 2 more top 51-100 wins and six fewer games against the Top 200 RPI crowd. I think it's perfectly defensible from a pure metrics standpoint. However, I have watched Syracuse a couple of times over the past few weeks and just using my biased "eye test", Nebraska is a more athletic and talented team and are clearly playing better currently. We just have to hope the committee watches enough games to have healthy debates on what the computers are telling them as it relates to one team versus another versus what their eyes tell them. -

Wow, I was running around and got my updates in here and didn't catch that. What a remarkable 2 game stretch for St. John's. Too bad we can't trade St. John's two of our wins for two of their losses as long as they also give us the road win at Nova. -

This is what is great about college basketball and also what would make Nebraska running the table really remarkable. It's just hard to consistently win on the road and if you finish the season winning 9 in a row and 12 of your final 13, that is worthy of being in the tournament and not in the first four play in games. -

Just an fyi that the tournament sites listed are not accurate. I would love to see Nebraska come to Denver because I live very close but alas, those sites are several years old. Below is where 1st/2nd round games will be played for those of you pricing flights already . Also, I would love the draw as well outlined above. Give me a middle of the pack team from an over-rated SEC conference followed by a struggling Az State any day. However, I'd really love more to avoid the play in game but beggers can't be choosers! 1st/2nd Round Sites: Pittsburgh, Wichita, Dallas, Boise, Charlotte, Detroit, Nashville, San Diego -
Nice job on this. One thing to keep on the radar is that the school record for wins in a season is 26. I'm knocking on wood and being optimistic but It feels like we are going to end the regular season with 22 or 23 wins. Lets say we pick up a win or 2 in MSG (3 would be pretty sweet as well!) that gets us pretty close to this mark. You can see where I'm taking this. All, I'm saying is that this record is not unreachable and this team has a chance to do do some very special things that has never been done at Nebraska. Lets keep it rolling against Rutgers!

Miles needs to be careful now. He was laying into the refs really good earlier this half and I could see the refs wanting to reciprocate that technical. -
