Sorry to hear it as well; classy text as usual by Matt.
  2. CWG already mentioned this in the Super Bowl thread, but I wanted to chime in as it has been a good week on the football recruiting front. They pulled the '14 class together after a pretty dismal start. And I love what is happening so far with 2015. Commitments from 4 highly ranked players, 3 of themregional guys--Colorado and Kansas. I like being a factor in the 500 mile radius. The offer lists on these guys was impressive.
  3. Enter that one in the Post of the Year contest.
  4. Agree with Norm on Crean. Was not a fan of Norm Stewart or Billy Tubbs. Not a fan of Gary WIlliams (got to know him a little up close and personal). Not as big a fan of Roy Williams as most. Definitely not a fan of Barone (again, some first hand interaction). Not like category for Knight, Gillespie, Calipari, Pitino. Liked Wooden even though I always cheered against UCLA. Liked Moe. Johnny Orr. Boeheim. Loved Colgate coach Jack Bruen. Majerus and Spoonhour. Tark.
  5. No problem; it deserved its own thread.

left knee; yes, it was on the plant
  7. Fluke injury to Houser. Hurt her knee on the plant; no contact. Hopefully a false alarm, but it doesn't look good. Hope she can get back on the court and finish a great career on the floor.
  8. Agree
  9. Helps put what Tai is doing in perspective--some folks have been on him pretty hard, but he's playing big minutes at a demanding position as a first year player, and doing OK.
  10. 3 road wins. THREE. And those aren't easy to come by. Ask every team that played in PBA this year. And Iowa tonight had all it could handle at Illinois.
  11. It's interesting that they can do the smoke and mirrors thing so many times....
  12. Upsets happen. They played way over their heads in a couple games. Doesn't mean it is expected to continue going forward. Vegas certainly in agreement. Easily the worst club in the league. Chris Collins doing a helluva job. Cause that easily worst team keeps getting road wins against decent teams.
  13. Seriously, 316, give it up. It's one thing to be dead wrong, on something that a simple search will show. But to not admit it and move on.... So yes, we are absolutely positively sure.
  14. Great win. And it's never bad beating Iowa. 7-straight-times. The byes helped. This staff has always been good at figuring out how a team has to play based on what is or isn't in the cupboard, and adjusting accordingly. These folks can coach.
  15. And someone on here said just this week, with a high degree of certainty, that Northwestern was "easily" the worst team in the league. Actually, NO.
  16. And someone on here said she hasn't improved her game from last year. Also Iowa is getting home cooking Huskers could be ahead by 20 to 30 if the game is called both ways. And someone on here said she hasn't improved her game from last year. Also Iowa is getting home cooking Huskers could be ahead by 20 to 30 if the game is called both ways. Not quite a direct quote, but I'm more than pleased to be somewhat guilty as charged, and quite wrong. One of the critiques was directed at inconsistency--until recently, we didn't know what we get from T on a given night. A lot of disappearing acts. But now, with about 5 straight games of excellent production, that doesn't seem to be problem. It is awesome to see a substantial improvement in her game in her third year.
  17. Would be VERY pleasantly surprised by a Husker victory today. GBR!
  18. Good stuff. Gotta love Kye and Serge. Would have figured Bro to be a little more prominent in a game like this.
  19. That is awesome; thanks Dimes. What I liked was Kent pointing out that when he hit the 3, we had 2 freshmen and 3 sophomores on the floor. Markowski was on 1480 yesterday afternoon, talking abut 4 or 5 more years to make the dance. I'm way more optimistic than that.
  20. Michigan Iowa Michigan State Illinois Penn State Wisconsin
  21. Great iobservation, and I thought the same thing. I am sure this wasn't the first time he made this move, but it doesn't happen often. Hope he can master it over the next two years. I went absolutely nuts when Walter did that. Got a lot of strange looks in our section. They failed to see the deeper meaning. Can't blame them; it's easier to see 5 beers in.
  22. Even if Hawk would have missed that 3 it would have been a good night. He played great D and was very composed, especially considering he hadn't played in awhile.
  23. Now that's taking one for the team. My guess is your kids are doing exceptionally well. I believe those conferences are intended for those struggling, and are optional for parents of those who are all squared away, and/or for diehard Husker fans.
  24. That's what I call flexible hours! Gotta have some benefit for all the other pain of self-employment! Mellow Mushroom in 3-2-1....
