  1. Who knows. Below (a bit dated), is from her appearance on the Dan Patrick show back in February. Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark revealed Monday that she is considering delaying her professional career for another season as she might use her COVID year of eligibility. As a junior, Clark will play at least one more collegiate season before declaring for the WNBA draft. (Clark, 21, won’t be eligible for the WNBA draft until 2024.) That could easily turn into two more seasons if Clark decides to extend her collegiate career. “That’s where I want to be [the WNBA], but I have another year here and possibly one more after that just because of COVID,” Clark said on Monday’s episode of the Dan Patrick Show. “I probably will have to make a decision on that sometime next year. I really have no clue what I’m going to do, stay for an extra year or leave after next year.” Clark said NIL deals won’t be a contributing factor in her decision because she expects many of those sponsorships to carry over into her professional career.
  2. And Petrie might give us depth at the '4' . She might even be a bit ahead of Potts, physically. Glad we have both.
  3. “Our ‘salary cap’ wasn’t as good as other people.” Seriously? According to On3, Caitlin Clark's NIL deals are worth approximately $739,000.
  4. I wasn't sure of one person in the picture you posted on August 3rd (after game 2). Thought it might have been Petrie. I can't put a name to the girl in the 2nd row, far right.
  5. Looks like Petrie joined the team. Don't think she appeared in any earlier games.
  6. I like the newbies. #0, #2, and #22 seem to be good fits. Fun to watch. Thanks Bugs for the link.
  7. I noticed Weidner walking off the court at the end. The leg was wrapped, and she appeared to favor it. I hope her rehab is going well. Fingers crossed. It is just the first week in August.
  8. That is old. I wonder how many schools have offered now. Good catch.
  9. What I copied, is the article. You could search for: UCLA Women's Basketball Sends Offer to Class of 2024 Point Guard Britt Prince That should take you to it.
  10. The most recent recruiting article I can find, is below. It is dated July 16th. The young lady continues to receive new offers. The Bruins have become the most recent high major program to enter the recruiting battle for one of the top backcourt players in the Midwest. Coach Cori Close and assistant coach Tony Newman have identified the next class of 2024 prospect UCLA women’s basketball will try to sway to Westwood. The Bruins' staff has offered Elkhorn North High School (NE) point guard Britt Prince a scholarship, she revealed Saturday afternoon on Twitter. UCLA joins Creighton, Nebraska, South Dakota State, Louisville, Iowa State, Omaha, Iowa, North Carolina, Maryland, Oregon, Michigan, Indiana, Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Marquette, Penn State, NC State, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Illinois, Virginia Tech, Harvard, Missouri, Mississippi State, Belmont, DePaul and Florida by becoming the 29th program to reach out to Prince with a scholarship offer.
  11. A bit off topic (NBA) but, have you noticed lately, players are tipping the ball (on jump balls) on the way up? Bam Adebayo did it at least twice last night versus the Nuggets. Didn't think that was allowed.
  12. SIAP - I was flipping channels, and noticed Leigha Brown suited up in the WNBA game. A quick Google found this headline; "Connecticut Sun Acquires Leigha Brown in Trade with Atlanta Dream." Glad we won't be facing her anymore.
  13. Do you expect any open scholarships when the season gets here? I imagine there would be some concern, expressed by fans, if there were.
  14. The men might get two fewer scholarships, but still had 17 players on the roster last season, and 19 players the year before. How is having a shot at more playing time a good thing, when it is because of less competition? It is obviously a long time between seasons. At least we have this forum to hold our interest. Have a good one.
  15. Why would I ask Hoiberg? He recognizes the need to utilize every scholarship. He just didn't make great decisions at times, and his record shows it. You would certainly need to exercise due diligence, to bring in appropriate players. That goes for everyone on the roster. My question; wasn't losing scholarships one of the 'go to' penalties the NCAA used for rule infractions? Extra bodies seem to be a good thing. Not using the scholarships also affects Title 9 numbers on the men's side. Not filling a roster bugs me. Right or wrong, it makes me question if the staff is up for the task. Who knows, maybe they will add a couple more players before September.
  16. I remember us dressing 8 players for some games this past season. Wouldn't it make sense to pick up a couple 'one year' eligibility transfers, even if they are marginal players? What could it hurt?
  17. No Brady or Dillard. The Huskers stuck with them for a long time. I hope that reflects well on the program. We have two openings left. Any idea where we go to fill those spots?
  18. Per LJS The Nebraska women's basketball team and coach Amy Williams picked up a commitment for the 2025 class on Friday with Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, sophomore McKenzie Mathurin choosing the Huskers in a Twitter post. Last season for the Tigers, Mathurin averaged 20.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 27 contests. The 5-foot-10 guard had over 30 Division I offers in hand, including Kansas State, Colorado, Purdue, Creighton and Wisconsin, before picking Nebraska. She was also a first-team all-state selection for the Tulsa World and the Ms. Outside winner in 2022-23, helping Broken Arrow return to the 6A state tournament for the first time since 2016.
  19. When Coach was talking, as Hud mentioned, Cook said it is easier to go from basketball to volleyball. Being a part time basketball player, will not be easy. Not sure she will ever reach her full bball potential as a part time player. But, volleyball is her favorite sport, and she looked very good Saturday. Happy to have her as a Husker. Regarding the volleyball frosh, they were amazing. Add in the fact Maggie M. is the same age, and what a crop of 17/18 year olds we have. Cook must pinch himself at times.
  20. Sam, do you have an opinion, why so little Husker WBB info, makes it to newspapers or websites? Thank you for mentioning Brady and Dillard. Nothing but crickets regarding them, for some time.
  21. April 24 — Te-Hina Paopao commits to South Carolina, Lexi Donarski to North Carolina
  22. April 21 - 23 is a recruiting "Evaluation Period". (Certified nonscholastic events only) Looks like the staff will be watching high school age players compete. Per the NCAA, "an evaluation period is that period of time when it is permissible for authorized athletics department staff members to be involved in off-campus activities designed to assess the academic qualifications and playing ability of prospective student-athletes. No in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts shall be made with the prospective student-athlete during an evaluation period". Hope this helps.
  23. It certainly beats an unused scholly. And, I think she'll help. The kid plays "D". I agree with what you say. Hard to find a downside to this addition (IMO).
  24. By my count, if Brady and Dillard are truly gone, we still have a couple open scholarships. I sure hope we bring in two more players. Looking ahead, Shelley, Stewart(?), and White will be playing their final year. At a minimum, there will be 3 available spots for the next class. Plus, will Amy's daughter be a walk-on? To me, these numbers would make sense.
