My blurb was things I like at the moment, not a critical comment. I'm happy Jaz and White could monopolize floor time at guard. I'm glad we have options to give them the occasional rest. No more, no less. Once conference play begins, I'm sure my tone will change at times. GBR

Things I like, so far. I like our options at the 3 and 4 positions. The Kendal's and the Newbies (Potts and Petrie) are athletic, long, fairly tall, and hustle. They're not all providing the offensive fire power we'd like (yet), but have potential. We need to get Stewart back on the floor. I don't think Petrie is a post player. Even with Weidner out, we have some depth at the guard positions. White and Shelley should get the bulk of the minutes. Historically, Jaz seldom leaves the floor. Hake, NIssley, and Krull are OK off the bench. Krull is the better defensive option, but all can light it up at times. Lastly, Markowski is a stud. She might miss way too many bunnies, spend too much time out by the 3 point line (offense and defense), but I doubt that is improvisation. She is giving great effort. It has been awhile since we saw a post player improve from one year to the next. Good to see. I also like the team togetherness (what you can see with limited access). I doubt Weidner has missed a game since injured. Stewart is still in a boot, but she's on the bench. And, MM, 2 days from the NCAA volleyball tournament, going in as the number 1 seed, is right there on the bench, supporting her WBB teammates. Enjoyed the win ladies. Well done.

Coley is coming off a nice game. She deserves minutes, but not more than Potts.
-
And Hake. And Krull. (more minutes than Potts ) ????

Any updates on Stewart?

Yes, prior to coaching Rutgers. I recall Don Imus getting into trouble with how he described her Rutgers team.
-
If she would have tried that against the old Vivian Stringer Rutger teams, she would have been clocked. Might be a player or two in the BIG that would drop her in her tracks.
-
Only 3 Huskers with positive +/- minutes (the Kendals and Petrie). Looks like if you spent time on the court during the first half TCU runs, you finished minus. Coley had a nice stat line. I don't recall the last time she played 21 minutes. Coach must like what she is seeing.

I'm seeing Lamar stats?

Unusual stat line: Zero blocked shots in the game. Not sure I have seen that before.
-
That is assuming the actual number of fouls committed in the game were even. Without the benefit of watching the game, it didn't sound like that was the case. It will be interesting to see if anything more is written or said about the officiating.
-
White, with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, had an excellent game. Played 34 minutes. Team needed them all.
-
Officials sounded attrocious. Does a school have any recourse to have the officiating reviewed? They don't sound qualified. I've never heard of rabbit eared officials telling a radio guy to pipe down before.
-
Markowski and Potts did the heavy lifting that half.
-
That sucks. Until recently, it did say Flo Sports at Huskers.com. At some point, it switched to 'Live Video'. Thumbs up for your effort.

Any word on the severity of Stewart's injury? We need her. I'd also like to see Petrie get more minutes. She has competed at high levels in her young career. Probably just going through a period of adjustment, playing Division I ball. We have some nice pieces.
-
Ironically, if you look at the box score Bugeater 1 provided, Jazz was a +9 points while on the floor. The only other Husker with positive points was Krull (+2). She might not have had a good shooting night, but the team played well when she was on the floor (based on +/- stats).
-
Petrie had a nice stat line for only 6 minutes. I missed part of the game. Was she getting lit up on defense or ???
-
Might have lost, but this game probably did more to prepare us for conference play, than the first 3 did. We get Stewart back, and work MM in down the road, could be a fun ride. Anyone else think the play of Potts, is rubbing off on the other players? AM seems to be playing at a higher level lately.

28 - 23 end of 1st (bluejays up). Doubt they can keep hitting 3's at current pace (hopefully).
