  1. Holding Sweden up as a positive example is pointless, other than to acknowledge that their superior welfare state has mitigated much of the impact of their approach. I would never defend the ludicrous approach the US has taken--it's criminal--but neither would I hold up a socially libertarian approach, either, even granting that Swedes are collectively far more mature than Americans. Pandemics are brutal on every system, which is why they're rightfully feared. And don't worry about oversimplification. It's a message board, not a dissertation proposal.
  2. sweden is currently re-thinking their strategy due to a whopping 8 percent fatal rate. a year from now, a lot of people are going to wonder why they ever cared so much about so little.
  3. well.....I got nothing on this one.
  4. I think .500 with this bunch should get CoY for Hoiberg. And that would be a major jump in quality to get there. My inclination is to just sit and wait. It's another brand new roster again and the usual perils will be present.
  5. good going charlie. well deserved.
  6. maybe he can transfer to k state next year. everyone wins!
  7. good luck to jervay. may his shot proceed into the hoop unblocked. :)
  8. cya. watch that door on the way out. time for mulligan year #2. let's hope we do better this time.
  9. dachon's moving in next door! it should work out a bit better for him there. best of luck!
  10. thanks Fever! had to be a thankless task this year. Somehow managed to keep the top 10 streak alive after watching a grand total of 2 games all season....:) This was definitely a competition geared towards the pessimist this season.
  11. i hope thor returns. he makes me still like this sport.
  12. yori built in a top heavy big 12, with a crap bottom. the B1G isn't as good at the top, obviously, but is stronger thru the middle and now even the bottom is getting more serious. it's a tough roundball league. that said, Williams is no Yori. You could see Connie's roster and recruiting improvements thru years 3 and 4 but this bunch? I dunno. Still think she's earned one more season, obviously, and hopefully that works out for her. If not, we can get a .500 coach almost anywhere.
  13. hahahaha. the NBA draft has an 8th round?
  14. and maybe their daily consumption of apple fritters....
  15. rage zombies, any moment now! so to be prepared----do we leave the wife and run out the window a la robert carlisle? or do we fight until the last zombie bite?
  16. well, I'm going to surrender, even if the team isn't. can't say it's been a fun year. but hope the offseason goes better and w'ere not all dead or turned into rage zombies.
  17. terrible coaches pile up bad losses during a season. this IU team has none. I saw a sloppy IU team most of the first half. Nevertheless, the talent is asserting itself now, whether it's coaching or the players is largely academic. they have better players.
  18. that's such a nut kicker. to play that hard and have a team that was phoning it in just wake up and say, "eff this. let's finish them". i feel for the guys, but we are just too outgunned.
  19. and just like that....sigh.
  20. man, we get blocked a ton.
  21. if only they can play 40 minutes like this. but i'll take every minute they got.
  22. well, watching my first game since November. I'm frightened.
  23. whatever they do, please get the snap off before the bloody clock expires and stop jumping offsides. thanks in advance.
  24. i feel sorry for the people who need to earn a living. screw the sports. a lot of people are going to suffer trying to make ends meet.
  25. here's to sending the Jimmy Chitwoods home in sorrow. IU's got a lot on the line, though, so this is going to be one motivated bunch of hosers, eh? Maybe Thor will bring his plucky back-bench luck from last season to the tourney. We could use one good belly laugh at a overconfident opponent before this show wraps up for the next year.
