  1. Maryland is the best possible draw in terms of the top 4 seeds. I didn't want to make too big of a deal about it when the bracket was first released but now that we have made it this far I'm so excited!!!!
  2. This is the ideal scenario. Maryland is a reeling team right now. So they are either going to wake up and play a great game or continue their funk and give us the perfect recipe for an upset. I'm really hoping for the latter.
  3. I'm not sure how quick Arop is but I think he will be a 2 or 3 for us.
  4. I think Bakari is more talented than Fuller and more capable of playing the 1-2 position than Fuller is playing the 4.
  5. I'm not going to argue too much about Hammond ahead of Fuller, but with the "at this moment in time" proviso, I don't see how you can put Evelyn ahead of Fuller. Only if you're judging on potential, and even then I'm not convinced. That was the hard part for me. I think Evelyn will be a serviceable player by the time he is a senior where as I still think Fuller will be riding the bench with the talent coming in at that position. Also if I'm going by current position Fuller is technically a forward and plays the four which I don't like at all. If he were currently playing the three I would probably put him ahead of Evelyn. And tbh all I can think about is Bakari drilling that three ball last night!
  6. I don't get how any husker fan can say we don't have talent when next year, on paper, could be the most talented team in school history and for sure 20ish years. The best thing is that our talent is young. Morrow and Watson are both Top 100 recruits. Jacobson and McVeigh are gonna be four-year contributors and will be legit secondary scorers in the future. We will have to see what Evelyn turns into but I doubt he is a slouch. Then you have Roby and Horne coming in who are top 150 players by atleast one recruiting service. Some ppl have Roby as the best prospect in Illinois. AND next year you will have two upperclassmen transfers eligible to play for you who were top 50 recruits out of high school. Seems like that's a huge talent upgrade for Nebraska basketball.
  7. 1. Shields 2. White 3. Webster 4. Watson 5. Morrow 6. Jacobson 7. Parker 8. McVeigh 9. Hammond 10. Evelyn 11. Fuller
  8. Wisconsin was one of the games I think we win if we were healthy at the time. Wisconsin has been on a role lately while we have been struggling so that gives me some worries. But at the end of the second half yesterday we seemed to be gaining some confidence and fluidity on offense. Second half defense wasn't great but I'd honestly prefer they didn't exert a lot of energy on defense since we pretty much had the game in hand majority of the second half. Most players played 5-10 min under their average so hopefully they will be a little fresher and can go into the game with some momentum from last nights win. Sometimes all it takes is one win to get you rolling. GBR
  9. Started off how I expected. - Jacobson had about as quiet of a 14 point game that you can have - Andrew White is the king of quiet games. Had a sneaky 16 points - Shavon had his first double double of the season. Looked alot better the second half - Morrow is so good around the rim if he can develop a somewhat decent jump shot I think he is a locked in starter at the 4 next year. - Another actual quiet night for McVeigh. We need him to get something going but minutes are gonna be limited since he's the back up to White and Shields who are gonna be on the court more often than not. - Hammond rebounded really well and looked locked in. Not sure why he never got back in the game until the end. - Benny played solid defense on their best player. - BAKARI FOR THREE!!! Glad we pulled away seemed like we started to gain some of our offensive confidence back in the second half. I would be very happy if we win tomorrow.
  10. Last season was a train wreck I don't think a healthy Leslee Smith could have fixed. This year would be a difference as he would have helped tremendously in the post. But hindsight is 20/20 and I'm sure if Miles knew how bad last season would turn he would have just redshirted or got a medical waiver for Leslee (can't remember which one he had already used at SMU)
  11. I always forget that there is a division among Nebrasketball fans when it comes TP. Even though he was the best player on our best team in almost 20 years.
  12. I'm not sure which player would be more beneficial. Pitchford would address our biggest need and when he was locked in he was a solid big man. But Petteway could just take over a game like no one on our roster can currently. And that offense would be fun to watch with Petteway (a pure scorer) Shields (a great slasher) White (a pure shooter) Watson (a true PG) and Webster (wild card assuming he makes the same leap over the off season). Not sure I would call Petteway a "pure scorer" . Yes he scored but a lot had to do with volume of shoots. Part of that volume was that no one else stepped up.Pure scorer as in he could score in numerous ways. He could shoot the three, drive to the basket, get to the foul line, pull up mid range, and most importantly create his own shot.

  14. I figured with him we could flip our record. A few games where it seemed like we were just one player away.
  15. Let's just say, for whatever reason, Anton Gill was eligible to play this season. How much of a difference do you guys think it would make in terms of W's and L's. Obviously he wouldn't help with our post play which is the biggest problem but I think having another talented athletic gaurd like Gill would have allowed us to play a style more suitable to the team's current roster makeup.
  16. Good player for SDSU and he's only a RFr. Averaged 15 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Won 6th man of the year and was Summit Tourney MVP.
  17. Your lineup predictions reflect what a glut of players we have at 1 1/2 spots: Guys who aren't big/tall enough to be true 5s and maybe not quick enough to be true 3s.Jacobson is not a 5 in the B1G. He'll play there by default if we don't get someone else, but if we do get that someone else, I think you're right that he shifts to the 4. OR he backs up the 5. He hasn't shown the athleticism to play the 4 yet. Not at a middle-to-upper-tier B1G level. And he'd have to fight the following players for minutes at the 4: Morrow, McVeigh, Horne and possibly Roby. Morrow is far more athletic; I believe Horne has better post offensive skills and can step out and hit mid-range out to the arc; McVeigh was a better scorer in fewer minutes. If we find a 5, Jacobson might start at the 4 but he might not. I think Roby needs to be White's understudy. The four spot will definitely be the most competitive position for playing time next season.
  18. Just curious for your opinion on where Jeriah Horne plays and more importantly who he is gonna take minutes from? My opinion on him not redshirting is more about guys not redshirting, not because I think he's going to play a ton of minutes. Have to think he's in the SF-PF rotation with guys like White, Jacobson, McVeigh, and Fuller. Not sure if Roby is in that type of rotation or if he's with the guards. Also depends on who else we might sign or lose, obviously. Good point on Roby. I see him more likely to get backup point gaurd minutes than Bakari. But i think the two gaurd spot minutes will be locked down by Webster, Watson, and Gill as I see them each getting 25+ minutes. I am excited for the competition for minutes next season.
  19. I see his chance of playing decreasing even more if we sign a center that can contribute right away. Bc that will push Jacobson to the 4 with Morrow and I still think McVeigh will get minutes there too.
  20. Starters Glynn Watson Anton Gill Andrew White Jack McVeigh Michael Jacobson Bench Tai Webster Edward Morrow Isaiah Roby Jake Hammond This is my prediction with the current roster and signees. We will be deep and I think minutes will be tough to come by for Fuller, Evelyn, and Horne.

  22. Do we need to atleast beat Rutgers? Or is the CBI there for the taking regardless of how we do in the Big Ten tourney?
  23. Do we have any shot at the CBI? I'm not really sure what their requirements are but I thought Penn State played in it a couple of years ago with a losing record.
  24. I like Tim Miles. 100% confident he will take Nebrasketball to places it has never been.
  25. Maybe the way to look at it is this - how would the players above work into the roster of one of this year's upper-division teams? That would vary, of course, by team, but in general as I see it:- White - he's there. He would be playing and contributing to anyone of the Big10's best. Starting on some, 6th/7th man on others. - Watson and Morrow - spot time on some of these teams now - maybe working into a starting role on some teams by their Jr/Sr year. Watson more likely to do that than Morrow. - Jacobson and McVeigh - could become serviceable 10-15 mpg role players somewhere down the road for some upper D teams like Michigan or Wisconsin, but not definitely not there today. - Evelyn - doubtful he would ever play meaningful minutes on any of those teams ever. I think Watson, Morrow, Jacobson and McVeigh can help us crawl closer to #6, 7 or 8 in the conference, but they are going to need help from people we don't have on the roster today. And I'm beginning to worry that people are expecting too much of Roby. Honestly, do you think he'll be as good or better than Shavon? I don't think you and I differ much on opinions here, Norm. Keep recruiting, Tim. I agree with pretty much everything you said. I do think that Morrow would get a little more playing time than you do however. With a top tier Big Ten team he would probably get to play the 4 which i still can't wait to see him at. But aside from layups, putbacks, and dunks he hasn't shown much offensive game so then again you might be right.Totally agree with your assessment on the freshmen. They are a solid group and will be great to build on. I think some ppl were expecting too much from them too early. I am really high on Roby though. Obviously he won't replace senior Shavon but I think he will be better than freshman Shavon. But we will really find out how good he is bc White and McVeigh will get the majority of the 3 minutes and if we get a true big Morrow and Jacobson will take minutes at the four. So there should be alot of good competition for playing time and if Roby gets it he will have definitely earned it.
