There is one hell of a lot bigger gap between the volleyball programs then the basketball programs.
-
Guard position is our biggest need. When Allison and then Sam went down we lost our two best guards for defense, rebounding and taking the ball to the hoop on a consistent basis. Also greatly missed was their leadership.
-
If both Jaz and Issie leave I think we we would have 4 available scholarships.
-
Opens the door for hiring Ann Prince in the future.
-
Maybe Jaz will be on fire tonight.
-
She should have been given at least a one year scholarship here. We had plenty unused. Maybe there was something else going on. Who knows in this day and age.
-
In the 14 games she played she averaged about 9 minutes with 2 points and 1 rebound per game.
-
That would be worth celebrating.
-
Or another Jaz Shelley!

I was at the game and it was great. One interesting lineup that we had towards the end of the first qtr was Maggie,Issie,Sam, Kendall M. and Jaz. They played together for about 5 minutes and went on an 8-0 run. Then Sam got hurt. Looked to me on replay it was either a high ankle sprain or possibly an achilles injury. The rest of the team really stepped up. These are good minutes for the younger girls as we advance and continue to practice. Looks like Kendall M. will be starting going forward. Great opportunity for her. Teams keep getting tougher. The most reliable player on our team right now is Issie. She is playing by far her best basketball this season.

We have had numerous games this year where we have had fast starts but have given up big runs later in the game. Foot on the accelerator and don't take it off. Will need good bench contributions as well.

Last night Natalie Potts's team Incarnate Word Academy won the class 6(largest class) Missouri State championship with their 100th consecutive win. Longest winning streak in the nation. Sixth straight championship. Max Preps had Incarnate Word Academy rated 6th in the nation a week ago.
-
Even though its a home game for us it will be a really tough game. We need to be at our best.
-
In my mind she should be national player of the year.
-
Assuming Trinity B. and Naliah D. are both done and Sam's eligibility gone we will still have 2 open scholarships after giving 3 to the incoming freshmen even if everybody else returns. Will be interesting to see what happens.
-
There are a lot of schools across the country in MBB & WBB that I am sure are working hard to get through changes in the rules for NIL money for foreign players. That could be the difference for us. We could be pretty good next year if they both return and with the three new freshmen have better depth.

2023 G/F Logan Nissley, 5-10, Bismarck Century HS (ND) > Nebraska
HUD replied to Red Don's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
I think her team Bismark Century was defeated in the championship yesterday 61-48. -
I believe Incarnate Word Academy where she plays would fit into Class B in Nebraska size wise. It is an all girls catholic school.

I probably came on too strong about McCabe. No problem to disagree. That's why I like this forum. Differing opinions. I probably have a burr under my saddle from her signing with Iowa.
-
I have said it before and I will say it again Taylor McCabe is way over rated especially when being compared to Clark. This year she barely got to play even in garbage time.

A Malcom freshman athlete by the name of Halle Dolliver is an athlete to follow in the future. Not saying she is another Britt Prince but she did have 71 total points in 3 games this weekend. 5'10" with an athletic frame and great hops. Fast and has great BB skills. Plays on club team coached by Andy Markowski.
-
I was at the game and saw those inter lopers. Who in the hell would want to live in Maryland or Iowa for what it's worth.
-
Nothing I know of . I wanted to hear her thoughts on the poor finish to the regular season and quick exit from the big ten tournament. Maybe a press conference in front of reporters who could ask a few questions like why did we start the season with 9 scholarship players and leave 2 unused. Maybe I'm just dreaming.
-
Has anyone seen any kind of press conference from Amy Williams lately?

Big Ten team news...(Hoopla's picks complete p. 17)

Pretty interesting to listen to. And you could even hear the questions that were asked. Not very many softballs. The AD did waffle a bit.
