If my memory serves me right after Emily's first year at Nebraska as a walk on Connie Yori put her on scholarship. She wasn't the fastest player but had other great attributes like hustle, hard work, BB smarts, 3 pt shooting and above all leadership. A real crowd favorite.

We will have numerous roster spots available in two years. Many people on this forum want a full roster. To get that we need players who will fill a role and stick around. She seems to be that type. We have had shorter players like her in the past that have fit in as well such as Emily Wood. Look at the 5 ft. 4" guard that gave us fits last night.

Mendelson did practice before the Samford game. Amy talked about the fact it is good to have 8 days without a game to implement some things and get some better depth. I can see no reason not to play Maggie next Sunday.

Bella Cravens has also put her name in the transfer pool

South Carolina was the aggressor in my estimation. Not surprising. -
On the bench tonight. After week of practice play in the Wyoming game. And then when we really need her the Kansas game. Kansas is doing very well and have a great and tall center. The plan last summer was for her to take a week off between sports. But she didn't play in games down the stretch plus with games close together at the end VB practices had to be limited a bit as well. Just remember all the VB players have a bitter taste after losing to Oregon. She can get rid of hers by contributing in WBB. Also she jockeyed very successfully between two sports when playing last summer.
-
Probably the Wyoming game as you mentioned. One week off after the Samford game and finals week with some practice and she should be hungry to get the bad taste of the extremely close loss to Oregon in VB out of her system. The rest of the VB returning players have to wait until next VB season.

TCU BY ABOUT 15 -
Maybe we will see Haiby soon. More likely in a home game versus road game. Also Mendelson should be available for the Wyoming game or Michigan at the latest. As previously noted I would like to see her & Markowski together with Bourne at the three position after Maggie gets her feet wet. Could be quite a matchup problem for opposing teams. Bourn did play successfully some there last year.

We are 33rd in the NET rankings which isn't exactly "sisters of the poor territory"

She's really popular on social media now. -
Never been a McCabe fan. Last year was a weak one for recruits from Nebraska. So far at Iowa she has only played in the blowouts.
-
It is quite a joy to beat Frese at her place finally. Almost as good as beating Bludder.
-
She got elbowed in the forehead rather severely by a Virginia Tech player early in that game and went to the floor. As Bugeaters said it was probably a concussion and is under protocol which can take a week or more. With her past history they have to be extra careful.
-
To me Jazz has a problem with a quick guard posting up on her.
-
We are a poor road team because on the road you need to be tough and resilient to poor officiating and have good leadership. We have no seniors playing right now and our guards are not very physical and don't seem to have the mental toughness needed especially on the road.
-
Anybody know how bad Grace Berger's injury is? Indiana probably wishes they would have played in some other Holiday Tournament then in Las Vegas.
-
A close game we needed to learn from and still win. Great to see Jaz regain her shooting touch. Kendall M. getting better each game. Maybe with the set back on the VB team from injury and illness and more then likely a poorer seed we may see Maggie M. available a bit sooner. We still need that shot blocker. Can't wait.
-
Once Sam is back even for limited minutes I think that will give a big emotional lift to the team. Another opportunity for team defense improvement is for more blocked shots. This should happen once Maggie M. is available. How about a front line of Mendelson, Markowski and Bourne at the 3 position like she played at times last year.
-
Jaz has problems on defense when opposing guards too often drive to the hoop and score. She seems to not be physical enough. The biggest gap is on offense especially when shooting threes. She has taken twice as many shots (25% of team total) then any other player but is hitting at only a 20% rate. Which is the worst by far of all 10 players on the current active roster. Maybe she feels too much pressure to do it all without Sam.

Nebraska by seven.
-
Our competition may be a little better then some of us thought. UNO beat Wichita St. by 5 in overtime.

Wow two games and we are writing people off?
-
Alexis is not slipping under the radar anymore.

I see we can only watch the game on Flo Hoops. What the hell is that. Two rated teams and that's all we get?
