  1. I have said it before and I will say it again Taylor McCabe is way over rated especially when being compared to Clark. This year she barely got to play even in garbage time.
  2. A Malcom freshman athlete by the name of Halle Dolliver is an athlete to follow in the future. Not saying she is another Britt Prince but she did have 71 total points in 3 games this weekend. 5'10" with an athletic frame and great hops. Fast and has great BB skills. Plays on club team coached by Andy Markowski.
  3. I was at the game and saw those inter lopers. Who in the hell would want to live in Maryland or Iowa for what it's worth.
  4. Nothing I know of . I wanted to hear her thoughts on the poor finish to the regular season and quick exit from the big ten tournament. Maybe a press conference in front of reporters who could ask a few questions like why did we start the season with 9 scholarship players and leave 2 unused. Maybe I'm just dreaming.
  5. Has anyone seen any kind of press conference from Amy Williams lately?
  6. Pretty interesting to listen to. And you could even hear the questions that were asked. Not very many softballs. The AD did waffle a bit.
  7. The bigger question may be did Czinano move in setting the screen on the player who then stumbled guarding Clark.
  8. You can verbally commit to a program anytime. She could sign during the early signing period this coming November. She is a junior right now.
  9. I was at the game and it was just as you described. There was 3 plays in a row where they just mugged us out front and no call. Getting a technical is one thing but the timing was disastrous. It was a 5 pt. turn around but could have been a 7 point one if we make a buzzer beater without the technical. Momentum just handed to them. That being said I listened to the Amy and Matt post game interview hoping for a bit of explanation from her something like "I just got very frustrated and getting a technical is never good but the timing on that one really cost us some momentum." In other words take some blame for a poor decision.
  10. I think after reading the article on Jaz yesterday there is a small chance she will be back. I think it hinges a bit on how we do the rest of the season.
  11. If we make it somehow into the NCAA playoff great. If not the WNIT can be a good launching platform for the future. For example Michigan won it in 2017, Indiana in 2018 and Arizona in 2019. All 3 of those teams subsequently made deep runs in the NCAA tourney with Arizona getting beat by Stanford by 2 the championship game in 2021.

I watched the game and Freeze had a great game plan to stop Clark and Czinano. 22 pts total. When Iowa beat them earlier they had 70 pts between them. Talk about an adjustment. That is coaching at its best. McCabe played 6 minutes and was 0-2 in three's and had one foul and one turnover.
  13. Don't forget Iowa has had a big advantage in point guards for the last six years. Big key for getting the ball where and when the post wants and needs it.
  14. When I clicked on this I only got 22 minutes so no conversation on WBB. What was the summary of the discussion?
  15. And one of the biggest catalysts in their winning 4 of their last 5 is a walk-on.
  16. Yes she has had a few good ones in Jaz, Maddie and Bella. The rest not so much. That's not enough in 7 years. There is never a guarantee that they will work out but especially with new coach Keller who has been around a lot of programs I would have rolled the dice to pick up a couple of more for this season. We started the season with 9 healthy scholarship players.
  17. Not losing Allison to a freak injury would have helped us in many ways which we have already discussed. A couple of additional portal players with experience would also helped as well. We lost 6 close games this year where our lack of depth really hurt. In the time Amy has been here she hasn't been very successful in getting quality transfers or players in the portal. It will be interesting going forward to see if that changes.
  18. Yep.
  19. I agree totally with Huskerpapa. Well thought out analysis.
  20. Good point. We seem to be limited on players that can really play defense. Nicea Eliely was one for 4 years. Part of playing defense is desire to do so.
  21. Bad losses score wise but they were both quadrant one games which if you win really helps but if on the road as they both were they don't hurt your net ratings hardly at all.
  22. In the games we played before Allison's injury including the Kansas game we were 11-3 playing 6 quadrant 1 games (none at home) winning 3 of them. After her injury we were 4-7 playing 7 quadrant 1 games (3 at home) winning 1 of them. With her we had 0 bad losses and without her we had 2. In considerable reflection on what has happened to our team after her injury in my thinking it is her defense that we really miss. As noted we don't have anyone else who can consistently do what she did in stopping drives to the hoop. She has the speed, toughness, desire and hustle to do that.
  23. Good point.
  24. Even with all the injured on the roster including Sam and the scholarship for Maggie we still had two unused ones that may have helped us with someone from the portal. Maybe there is more to it but if so then tell us.
  25. On a previous text quite awhile ago I mentioned that I had texted the call in show with the question of the status of Brady and Dilliard who at that time had not been at any of the last 4 games. Matt filtered the text by only asking Amy about the status of Brady. All Amy said was that she was under concussion protocol. If I get a chance I will call in at a future show and ask the question more directly. It is what it is but as noted previously the transparency of the WBB program is not what it should be at least in our minds. Fred Hoiberg is a lot more open.
