This is the only board I post on. Nothing else could compete, I’m sure of it. Just reading other teams boards makes me appreciate what we have here!

Now that I’m home— wanted to post some thoughts about the crowd and atmosphere today. It was just off in PBA today. Someone mentioned Brice seems to be feeling the weight of the entire season today. Honestly, I think it was everyone. PBA was quiet from the jump. We were up 9-2 but I’ve heard PBA louder down 9-2. The students didn’t show behind the hoop. The crowd was pretty slim for senior day announcements. The screen shot of our recruit felt like weird timing. Even the two former players coming on the screen and trying to get us pumped was off. Even their energy was just… tired. I don’t know how to describe it, but I hope we can get that PBA magic back next year. It truly can be a special place.

1-2 is a heck of a lot better than 0-3 and it’s a chance to get moving in the right direction. Hopefully that helps some of our bats come alive.

Not the greatest of applause’s but it was at a weird time too. Hopefully he didn’t feel “off” with his big screen welcome. I think it was just at a weird point in the game.

Agree with those who mentioned being too tough on Connor. I’ve actually been pushing for him to start for obvious reasons, but one of those is that he’s the best pure shooter on the team. In a lot of conference games too, he was coming into the game when we were down, sometimes by quite a bit. While I believe he was recruited to partly fill a Keisei roll, I do think two things worked against him. 1, I believe Gavin not being ready to go put a lot more pressure on him to be “Keisei” instead of “like Keisei”. I also believe 2, that when we saw Gavin wasn’t going to give us much, he was in a situation where we needed Sr year Keisei and not Jr year Keisei.

Im sorry man— always things bigger than basketball out there. Hopeful you get positive results.

Sadly— it’s hard to find big collapses for a program with success (or lack thereof) like ours. So possibly biggest collapse but partly because there isn’t a ton to compete with it. We have to replace a ton of production but the losses of Gary and Bryce should free up a bit of salary ca… I mean NIL.

Not just that, but four of the losses (Iowa, Rutgers, USC, Minn) were to lower conference teams. We didn’t lose to the cream of the crop at home.

If this year has shown anything, it’s probably that we’ve had more success getting difference makers than role players in the portal. So there’s that.

Fred is 100% here next year. BUT I don’t have any hard feelings for those who feel like he shouldn’t be. Definitely a fence sitter on the subject but the way this year played out after January is unacceptable.

How does one even get excited for next year?

TBF, he at least made a half attempt play on the ball it looked like in real time.

One more half to extend our season. You don’t get a lot of those at home. Would be an epic failure to not make the conference tournament but it doesn’t have to be that way.

It’s a circle of no energy too. Crowd not much to cheer about with our play and our crowd isn’t giving a whole lot of energy for the players to get pumped either.

D intensity is… matching the crowd at times.
