  1. Oh this event is happening. I’d be more shocked if someone tried to stop it. Welcome to unregulated NIL— we’ve been heading this direction for a long while. You definitely don’t have to like things like this. But you better learn to play the game or you’ll only hinder your own team. Events like this will only continue to draw the best of the best and eyes will be on it. NIL is here to stay. We’ll see how long unregulated NIL goes. Contracts, collective bargaining, etc will all come at some point I think. If it doesn’t, things like this will only grow and grow.
  2. In college… ball Is life. (LITERALLY)!!
  3. Down to #30. Still in the solid 2 seed range. Hope we get a favorable draw. Lot of work to be done and we still have 2 weekend series left! Let’s eat.
  4. I need more Dawg Days. If we could pick 7 guys and do a weekly episode for each on a different day, that’d be great. Thanks.
  5. I don’t disagree that hosting was a long shot heading into last night, but I don’t think we were completely out of the running either. With a win, we weren’t a lock to host but it was still possible. Without a win, I believe we are now virtually out of the hosting picture. Our midweek struggles are mind numbing. As throwback noted, our bats have just as much blame as our arms for midweek struggles the entire year. 7 of our 17 losses have come in the midweek. The good news— as already mentioned, is that we can close the book on midweek games and focus solely on the weekend where we are quietly 26-10, have just one series loss, and haven’t been swept. This team can make a run to a super. I have no doubts about that. If we want to host in the future, we have to figure out the midweek. Just winning 4 of those games puts us at 34-13.
  6. Well… if we were playing tight because we might host— you can kiss that goodbye.
  7. What a suckie one for Omaha to lose on-- they played well.
  8. Just got my tickets for USA vs Uruguay at Arrowhead! Pumped for what should be a top of the group game!
  9. A 13 seed is… something.
  10. Season started off, strong— I thought. But a lot of the late goals given up are already starting to rear their ugly heads. Ughh!
  11. B1G Remaining Opponents Illinois: Iowa, @Purdue Nebraska: Indiana, @Michigan State Purdue: @Michigan, Illinois Indiana: @Nebraska, Michigan Iowa: @Illinois, Non-con Michigan: Purdue, @Indiana Mich St: @Minnesota, Nebraska Maryland: Non-Con, Penn St OSU: Northwestern, @Rutgers Penn St: Rutgers, @Maryland Minnesota: Michigan St, @Northwestern Rutgers: @Penn St, Ohio St Northwestern: @Ohio St, Minnesota Interesting finish as a bunch of teams at the top all play each other and the bottom mostly play each other. Officially eliminated from B1G tournament play is Northwestern. They started really well and fell off a cliff. Rutgers must sweep to make the B1G tournament. 2/4 wins for them are against us. Wahh wahhh. Wasted opportunity. Maryland and Iowa have the least chances to move up as each had just 1 remaining series. Our series this weekend is HUGE. That didn’t appear like it’d be the case 2-3 weeks ago, but Indiana turned it on going 7-2 in their last three B1G series. They started off 5-3 in B1G play. Would greatly benefit us for Illinois and Purdue to lose 1-2 this weekend. Purdue is most likely to sweep. Iowa will be throwing everything they got to try and cement their B1G tournament spot against Illinois. That last weekend could be big with a chance at a sweep for us AND Purdue and Illinois likely beating up on each other.
  12. Haven't been giving our Sunday guy much run support as or late. Would like to turn that around in our last 5 at bat chances this weekend.
  13. Put ourselves in position for the sweep and that’s all we can do! Well done boys! Now get that W tomorrow and we’ll be looking nice!
  14. At least we’ll know by May 1st and not Aug 1st or whatever it was.
  15. And we STILL have two scholies left.
  16. We still have two scholarships that are open? We’re not going 13 deep this year either, so using one for our (possible) 25-26 center isn’t screwing us.
  17. Odds he plays the 25-26 season?
  18. What makes this even more impressive is who it came against. This wasn’t some lower half RPI team like SD St. this was a top 35 RPI team, from the Big 12, fighting for a post season spot, and with a chance at a Q1 road win. One of the best O’s in the Big 12 and we pitch a CG shutout with a guy who didnt make the travel roster three weeks ago and who hasn’t even thrown 9 innings all year!
