Got my lucky Husker cap on tonight. Hey, I'm pulling out all stops.... -
Hoopskers, Trust me, I'm living proof you don't need info people want to hear to post on this forum.

And you live in Michigan? I see therapy in your future..... -
Okay, here's what I'll do. New posters on this thread (4 or fewer posts) can get their bag of all natural angus jerky any of 3 ways. The first I mentioned is our farewell bash to the Bob next Wednesday, March 6th starting at 4 p.m. at Barry's in Lincoln. If you live in the Lincoln area and can't make that, first, shame on you, and secondly, I'll be at Ideal Market on 27th Street this Saturday, March 2nd from 11 to 3 doing a tasting. Stop by and say hi and get some jerky. Try the polish dogs and brats while you're there...... For those in different time zones or countries, pm me your mailing address and I'll send you some jerky. CanadianHusker, I don't know where you got this salsa idea, but knock it off. EDIT: I forgot to mention. For all you virgin posters that are still out there, you have til March 6th to post here and get some jerky.

....It's just a shot away. Okay, I'll admit calling tonight's game a "war" is stretching it, but I've been trying to figure out how to get Gimme Shelter in as a game thread and this almost works. Dylan Talley's 3 point shot to beat Iowa gives me hope the Huskers are going into this game with some confidence. I think the Huskers are capable of making this a contest for a half or more. As 16 point underdogs, chances are by games end we'll be figuratively screaming rape and murder, but you never know. Don't ask me why, but I feel the short turnaround will benefit the Huskers, at least in the early goings. I think they'll be riding the waves of emotion from Saturday's victory. C'mon Huskers. let's make this a game. GBR! As you watch this vintage 1969 Rolling Stones appearance, take special note of Charlie Watts. I believe this is the first recorded instance of the effects of doing whiskey shots with Nyquil chasers.....

A Poll: Non-scientific and Non-basketball related.

I logged right at 80,000 miles this past year. Whenever I see someone driving goofy (going slow in the passing lane, driving 90 mph, etc.) it's usually someone with out of state plates. For whatever reason, my experience has Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois drivers as the worst offenders. Oh yeah, and the Obama bumper stickers irritate me too, but that's probably a topic for a different forum.... -
I only caught about a minute of Miles. Dylan Talley is up next. It's up to you guys to post anything noteworthy....

I'm sure coach will be calling in tonight, so I don't know how long he'll be on the show. Post at will. I've got things to do, so I'll post when I can. Gather round, all you clowns.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz7IjXu0DfQ

Any chance of getting some HHC pickle cards in the new arena? I'm just trying to think outside the box, Dave and Scott.....

I guess I should have worded my offer a little differently. It's not just a bag of jerky to the first poster, it applies to any poster who is making post number 1 in this thread. I'll give away cases of jerky if we have that many new people posting... Thanks for the input, Dennis, and welcome to posting. I see people who are logged on with zero posts and I wonder why they take the time to log on. I thought maybe Dimes has some sort of a green stamp type deal going he didn't tell me about where you get frequent flyer miles for minutes logged on to this site. I'm always the last one to know about these things.....

Now this is an honest question, and I am in no way criticizing anyone. I truly want to know the answer. I see there are quite a few members who have never posted. That's fine. I've more than covered your share. But here's my question. Why do you sign in? Is it so you have the capability to like or dislike a certain post? Is it to gain access to our state of the art recruiting section? I would like to know. And, please, don't stop what you're doing, if you don't want to. It's great having you belong to this board. Now, if you want to use this thread as an opportunity to make that first post, please feel free to take the plunge. The water's fine. As an added incentive, whoever makes post number one in this thread gets a free bag of beef jerky. Just come down to Barry's on March 6th for our pregame bash and you can pick it up there. If you're out of the area, I might send it to you, depending on the quality of your post. I look forward to some answers!

I really don't see the need for a sunset clause in your proposal, cwg.

So, do we have another B1G win left in us this season?

We beat Minnesota. I'm tellin' ya. -
Another Miles profile and a rhetorical question
cipsucks replied to HuskerCager's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
If he had the option of Minny or Nebraska last year, is there any doubt he would have went to Minnesota? On the surface, looking at it from the perspective of a Nebraska fan, you're right. Picking Minnesota is a no brainer, when you look at their history and population base. But it's not that simple. Our facilities really are a game changer. Plus, so much depends on fit. Maybe Miles would feel more comfortable in Lincoln rather than Minneapolis. Also, if you're looking at both jobs as a stepping stone, which gets you a bigger payday at your next stop--winning at Minnesota or turning around the quagmire that is Nebraska Basketball? I'm just really happy we got him after last season and don't have to worry about what ifs. -
Don't get up, Handy. I'll get that link for you.
-
With all the minutes Ray, Talley and Ubel have logged this year, and how it will probably play out the rest of the season--the starters getting the vast majority of minutes played, my best case scenario would be to earn a CBI invite and then politely turn it down. That is, of course assuming we don't play our way into the NIT or NCAA tournies.

Iowa Game Thread: On our way to better things....

I'm sure you're right, lang. With all the brain cells I've destroyed, it's surprising I can remember anything about Husker basketball the past decade or so. Come to think of it, that might not be all bad.....
