  1. Hate Iowa early. Hate Iowa often. It's never a bad time to hate Iowa. Iowa is Creighton with a bad football program.
  2. 11 minutes to go. We haven't officially lost yet....
  3. Down 10. Things are starting to get away....
  4. 49r, who did you want to post in this thread?
  5. Well, we won the first four minutes of the half. Keep it up, Huskers.
  6. Huskers aren't giving up.
  7. Andre is playing alright today.
  8. We need a good start to half #2. In other news, don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight.....
  9. 3:45 in the half. Huskers down 8. Need to be within 10 at half.
  10. Looking at the posters on this thread I was wondering who Facebook (1) is. I think I figured it out.....
  11. Somehow we have to keep Iowa from going on a run before half. I don't feel confident of that happening....
  12. We have to get down 19 before we start playing. If we get down 19, my money is on Iowa stretching that lead to 29.....
  13. 15:26 to go. Huskers down 10-3.
  14. Looks like we might have a tough time scoring today. What else is new.... Down 7-1. Need a bucket.
  15. Didn't he have a cousin who played basketball?
  16. They just said on TV that an Iowa win today guarantees them the 6 seed.
  17. Gutsy pick, Dimes. Or are you suffering from sleep deprivation?
  18. Matt's doing the Osborne deal in Omaha tonight.
  19. It's Culhane instead of Davison on radio today.
  20. I think I ran out of room in my original post. Here's Andre's music video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOWxuA39RMs
  21. Well, this is the end of the regular season. Like most seasons do, it went by quickly. This is the last hurrah for our three seniors. More on them in a moment. As for the game today, the Huskers are 12 1/2 point underdogs. The line didn't surprise me. Royalfan and I were talking Wednesday night that today's game could get out of hand very easily. That might not be all bad if we have to turn around and play the Hawkeyes in the first round of the B1G Tourney. If we get behind by 19 today like we did against them 2 weeks ago, there won't be any comeback. Let's keep it close in the first half, and go from there. Go Big Red! Now for the seniors. Since there are only 3, I figured each player deserved his own music video. Let's hope I have better luck with these than I did the Minnesota game thread.... First of all, there's Dylan Talley. What he has done this year after moving to the point is remarkable. Never complains, just does what is asked of him. I read he has had 6 different head coaches in the last 5 years. Wow. Thanks for your two years as a Husker, Dylan. You've really improved your game. But, like probably every Juco transfer has felt, I'm sure Dylan thinks his time here was "Done Too Soon." Next is Brandon Ubel. Talk about improvement, that guy has gone from being a 3 or 4 points per game scorer to a huge leader on this team. He represents this university and state well, and has a promising career ahead of him in broadcasting. Can't wait to see him on the Big Ten Network someday! We probably only have a couple B1G wins at the most, "If not for U." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVeJKw5nL0k Last, but not least, there's Andre Almeida. You gotta love this kid's demeanor, and his never quit attitude. It's easy to forget he suffered a major knee injury while still back in Brazil, a burst appendix before he came to Lincoln and another major knee injury while playing here. It was fabulous to see his performance Wednesday night against Minnesota in front of his family. The guy will have two bachelor degrees when he leaves Lincoln. Way to go, Andre!
  22. The fact that there's a conversation about a walk-on just shows how bare the cupboard was this season. And, in Peltz's defense, the guy was hurt. I liked his guts.
  23. I don't think there really are any comparisons to Nebraska basketball. You not only have zero tradition, you have no population base in your home state to recruit from. We're in the same boat as the Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana and Alaska. None of those state's universities are in a BCS Conference, though. Our situation is truly unique to basketball (all sports, for that matter). The closest comparison I can come up with is Kansas football, but that doesn't truly fit because they won the Big Eight Conference back in the 60's. K State football is also close, but before Snyder they were the worst program in Division 1 history, and NU basketball isn't quite that bad. Thank God for Northwestern. So, does Miles need to stay here long term (ala Bill Snyder) to make this thing work? Maybe. Probably. I wish I knew.
