I was listening to 1630 AM here in Iowa City this morning, and among the pissing and moaning about Fran, the hosts of the sports talk show equated Nebraska's OT lineup with Iowa playing with walk-ons Riley Till, Austin Ash and student-manager-turned-player Nicolas Hobbs in the lineup.

Probably true, but if we win the first three, that's against NET #99, # 26 and #15. That adds two Q1 victories to the sheet.

Latest NET rankings: 8. Michigan State 10. Michigan 11. Purdue 15. Wisconsin 26. Maryland 42. Iowa 49. Penn State 51. Indiana 52. Nebraska 55. Ohio State 56. Minnesota 87. Northwestern 99. Rutgers 105. Illinois

He should be fresh.

I'd rather have Dorian Green.

Is there a team manager who has some skills? (I'm only half-joking.)

If Thomas Allen can't play, that's really five recruited scholarship players plus a walk-on who earned a scholarship. Justin Costello, anyone? AVAILABLE for RUTGERS GAME 1. Watson (recruited scholarship player) 2. Thor (recruited scholarship player) 3. Palmer (recruited scholarship player) 4. Roby (recruited scholarship player) 5. Heiman (recruited scholarship player) 6. Borchardt (former walk-on now on scholarship) 7. Trueblood (walk-on) 8. Costello (walk-on) INJURED, REDSHIRT or SUSPENDED LIST 1. Copeland (recruited scholarship player) 2. Allen (recruited scholarship player) 3. Harris (recruited scholarship player) 4. Akenten (recruited scholarship player) 5. Burke (recruited scholarship player) 6. Davis (recruited scholarship player)

Get well, Amir. You'll be a lynchpin going forward.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. So about college basketball: THAT Iowa team will have a chance to win a national championship; last year's Nebraska team didn't. Things that make you go "Hmmmm. Shit." -

At this point, why not start this lineup: Watson, Sr. (well, he's Glynn Watson Jr., but he's a senior; get it?) Trueblood, Sr. Palmer, Sr. Roby, Jr. (Wearing a senior's jersey, though, by donning Cope's #14) Borchardt, Sr. That gets all four healthy seniors on the court, and you have Harris, Heiman and Thor off the bench for some ... firepower? Not the right word, but you get what I mean. And maybe JT can annoy the shit out of Bohannon early and often enough to elicit a T a or two from the senior McCaffery.

Tomorrow belongs to him. -
Well, coach Lue hired Erick Strickland and LeBron as his assistants, and the entire Duke recruiting class transferred to Nebraska without having to sit out. We won all our non-conference games and opened the Big Ten with two victories, both on the road, against Michigan and Iowa. Fran McCaffery threw every chair from his team's area onto the floor to protest ... well, we're still not sure, but he's suspended for the rest of the season. Bronny James is seeking to graduate from high school in a year, so he should be on the team by 2020-21. Oh, and Lunardi has us in the First Four Out group.

That last-minute loss to Kansas. One shot doesn't go in, or the next one does go in, we're dancing with a real chance. It was that simple. I hate KU.

Indiana at 15-14, 6-12 is talking bubble. How f-ed up is it that we can't even get into that conversation considering our non-conference achievements and our win in Bloomington? On Edit: Very f-ed, and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

It will be what it will be. I prefer to pretend it's still Dec. 30, 2019. Everything after is too painful to relive.

Wine country, I hear.
