Surprisingly, I guess, Nebraska talk is pretty tame in Iowa City except during the week of the game(s). Well, there's that "friend" who keeps sending me teasing texts about the football team. Yesterday's gem quoted Frost talking about the scoreboard of life, and my "friend" tacking on the scores of the last four football games. Should I go to his birthday party tonight? It's a good bar and a good band, if that helps.

The lesson of the last two seasons: don't be simply good in a bad league; don't be bad in a good league. Do what Iowa did: play like crap (4-14) when the league is down; go .500 (10-10) when the league is up.

Lots o' suspensions over three years. That can't be good. If he sits out a year, he'll have only one year left of eligibility. Unless he's graduating after three years.
