Major kudos to the Athletic Performance Lab for recognizing that Jess' knee wasn't where it needed to be to safely return to the court last fall. I recall that she enrolled at NU during the summer so she could work with the strength and conditioning people and the athletic trainers. Along with all the injuries that have plagued our team the past several years, I am really questioning if there is any communication at all between strength and conditioning and the trainers.

really makes one wonder. i know practically every team deals with some type injuries, but, it sure doesn't seem others suffer from the same type of foot injuries that seem to plague this team? with all the foot injuries the past few seasons, i mean, really------it must be a topic of conversation amongst the coaches and medical staff?

I'm not a doctor but I've heard this type of injury takes time and rest to heal properly. Just hope by prolonging the season that it doesn't hamper her recovery time, by re-aggravating the injury further than it is now. If you remember two years ago the same injury plagued JHoop and Hailie Sample all summer long and they both weren't cleared to play until late October the following season.

Just hoping Jess can completely heal up and get into playing shape well before next season. I still keep saying she hasn't used all of her game. She can do lots more than stand by the basket.

I would guess you'll see a lot more of Jess's game and abilities next year. especially after a freshman year to learn, and also a summer to heal up, and then do even more on the court.

Next year will be a much different year, not only for Jess, but everyone will have a lot more experience. Newbies to blend in...and they'll look to Jess and friends in a new role as teachers.

don't pretend to me an expert on sports injuries either, but, i would err on the side of caution. let jess rest. really don't need her to play in the WNIT. BUT, that's just my opinion.
