good point, but at times last night he wasn't even really coaching.

I've been wondering, if in fact Pitino gets the axe, and we have yet another staff opening, does Coach Miles try to get Ben Johnson to come back???

King didn't hardly play until a couple minutes were left and Buggs didn't play at all. The talk in the Twin Cities isn't IF Pitino will get fired but WHEN. An over reaction, sure, but they just lost to NU & NU by 25 and there is no win in sight...

He looked like a coach that knows it is over.

As Sam McKewon pointed out on twitter last night, Minnesota doesn't have a full time athletic director so who exactly is going to fire Pitino? The interim AD? Boy I doubt it.

Pitino has 3 6'7" - 6'8" guys coming in but as we know integrating freshmen post players is tough. It's going to be a rough couple of years up there.

Agreed, and Rutgers is in the same position without an AD, right?  I'm thinking it's not a bad thing for the Huskers if Jordan and Pitino are running their teams a year from now.

One of his recruits is Richard Coffey's son out of Hopkins. The elder Coffey was on the '91 Sweet 16 squad with Willie Burton losing in that round to Georgia Tech and Kenny Anderson. As you pointed out Dimes their whole Athletic Dept. is chaos right now. Fired AD, Kill resigns, and the Hoops squad stinks.

Also Eddie Jordan is a living legend there so I think he gets a lot of slack with that team. They'd be semi-decent without all those injuries.

Pitino's starters were a mixture of freshmen and sophomores.  I think he will get a bit of a long leash at this juncture.

That's because he benched both his seniors, Morris and King.

They fired Tubby because he couldn't make it to the Sweet 16 so it's probably sink or swim after 4-5 years.

True that...but I still believe he is at no risk for this year and next.  But thereafter, he had better win.

They fired Tubby because he never had a winning Conference record, nor has the program in 10+ years. Still, they like to think of themselves as a "Basketball" school, funny.
