Bulls-Mavs tonight at once again 'sold out' Pinnacle Bank Arena:

The #1 Omaha Mavericks hockey debuts their $82M Baxter Arena tonight vs Air Force.

The #1 Creighton Bluejays soccer team plays a home match against somebody. They haven't lost or tied anyone, which is hard to believe with all the ties in futbol.

The #3 Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball squad plays for 1st place in the B1G!

The 3-4 Huskers play the 5-2 Wildcats for the "Battle of NU" on the 'Weekend of Champions' to commemorate Nebraska's dominant 1995 football team (National Champ and Big 8 Champ) as well as the '95 Volleyball National Championship (and Big 8 Champ); the 2005 Bowling National Champ.; the 2005 Baseball, Big12 Champ & CWS team (that won a game!); the 2005 Women's Gymnastics, Big12 Champ.

Also, world champ Terence 'Bud' Crawford has a WBO welterweight title fight vs Dierry Jean in Omaha on Saturday night.

Oh, and tonight, the 8-0 Aurora Huskies football marauders will play host to the 8-0 York Dukes for the district crown and possible no. 1 seed in the Nebraska Class B Playoffs.

Bulls defeat Mavs 103-102 in front of a SRO crowd of 15,297. Dougie McBuckets finally hit a couple of shots late to win it for Chicago. Fun game to watch (for an exhibition). Much of the crowd was more excited for the myriad of free t-shirts than the action on the court, it seemed. Until the game got tight late, then it went bonkers.

And, #1 Omaha Maverick Hockey defeated Air Force Falcons 4-2 in front of a sold out Baxter Arena (7,898 fans).

Husker volleyball not as fortunate tonight vs Minn. Back at it tomorrow vs WIsc.

...he always was able to find a way to score on the Nebraska court.

Doug missed his first 7 shots, and many were flat out bad misses. But, credit to him, McBuckets hit 2 crucial shots, including the game-winner. Fun night to see NBA action in Lincoln, Nebraska!

I will say, it was a pleasant surprise watching playoff baseball in the bar and then seeing Nebraska's basketball court show up on another TV screen. Needless to say, I got some weird looks for pointing that out and it was hard to focus on the MLB game after seeing that. Good thing that game ended and the MLB game was on a rain delay for a bit. Great ending for both games nonetheless.
