He played in 6 games and averaged less than 4 minutes per game. Collected 12 points and 4 rebounds on the season last year. But you can't coach 6'9" 230 Quote
Swan88 Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 He had a shoulder injury along the way at ASU, rumor has it. And then his coach was fired. It will be interesting to see if he becomes a "you are our number one priority" type of recruit (like Jeriah Horne) or a "let's sign you in the spring" type of guy (like Atewe). Quote

But you can't coach 6'9" 230 Hammond scored 3 points and 7 rebounds in 11 games with a similar sort of pre-college ranking. That size is definitely what we're looking for. He had a shoulder injury, but in February. He also was suspended for in January. He's probably wait and see at this point but when we're talking about JUCOs, the guys that transferred from Div 1 programs are typically the ones we want. New Mexico and St Mary's recruited him in school so he might slant Lobos. Quote

I thought we were hoping to find someone who could leapfrog over Hammond and be our starting center, not a guy who's similar to Hammond and just as good. The need for a center isn't just about depth; it's also about needing a better center. Quote

I suspect they're looking for someone who won't take a year to adjust to Div 1 though MacDougall doesn't necessarily have that track record on the court. Quote
