trickey Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 This presents the same problem Norm faced with Daryl Dawkins a few weeks ago. So I will follow his lead and place this here although I believe Moses was the first player to go pro (to the ABA) right out of high school. He was one of four players to score 25,000+ points and collect 15,000+ rebounds during their NBA career. Wilt, Kareem and Elvin are the others. The cause of death has not been disclosed, but authorieies stated there was no sign of foul play. R.I.P. Silverbacked1 Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 I heard that when he was coming out of high school the NBA and ABA where after him because he said that he wasn't going to play in college. Anyway the Utah Stars owner was at his house and kept asking him what it would take for him to come to the ABA. Moses went into his room and sat on his bed and the owner came in and started laying $100 bills around the outside of his bed one beside the other. Moses didn't say anything until the bed was lined all the way around. Cool story true or not. Also will remember the fo,fo,fo,fo answer he gave when they asked him how many games it was going to take in each round to win it all. Quote
jimmykc Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 This has really been a sad time for the NBA. Now we have fo,fo,fo no mo. With Moses and Dawkins leaving us so soon, I think it should be noted that Chocolate Thunder had the best personality but Malone had by far the better game. RIP to both. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Wasn't Moses like the first of the huge big man who also could do more than just back to basket? Quote
AuroranHusker Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Moses is/was the last player to average 25 ppg and 14 rpg in the NBA. And that was in 1981-82. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
Norm Peterson Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 When I read the headline of the thread, I can't help but think of an old Dana Carvey bit from SNL (back when SNL was still funny.) http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/tom-brokaw-pre-tapes/n10894 hhcmatt 1 Quote
