...has mercifully limped to it's ignominious end. And I shall reluctantly accept the full burden of responsibility since the strain of living up to it totally shredded Mr. Pitchford's psyche and upset the delicate balance of team chemistry. I hereby apologize to our players, coaches, and faithful fans for causing this debacle and vow to never again declare a "year" for anyone. But it has been sort of fun to come up with the avatars without resorting to any Slezaks , Dropos, Annenbergs, or Barbaras. And, no, this one is not a selfie.

Thanks for the ideas. I started to change to Michael Chiklis of "The Shield" but thought it would be too esoteric a pop reference for an effective avatar. I did have to rid myself of the final Walter however. Ventriloquists' dummys creep me out (too many Twilight Zones, I guess) and Jeff Dunham's Walter is no exception. I didn't even like Mortimer Snerd. And who wants to be tagged as a dummy anyhow. So I guess I'll recycle some of my old baseball ones as long as spring training is in full swing. Certainly our Cornhuskers can use a dash more Moxie next year. Wonder how a Year of the Ted would go? Hmmmm...
