I can see how that happens with him trying to hang on for the snap...but still pretty funny.  With that said, if you go back and watch the games after they finish and watch the oline play he is easily the most disappointing player on offense thus far.  Our center is not much better but I have a hard time blaming him because he is so undersized it makes it difficult going up against the big tackles in the Big Ten.

I've learned long ago that an offensive line is not about five individuals, it is one unit and must act as one to be successful.  In a previous thread I called out the entire line, not just one or two of them.  They collectively were over-matched by a terrific defensive front of MSU.  At the same time, our defensive front over-matched MSU's offensive line.

I thought our offensive line unit was an improving group and had made terrific strides sinse the McNeese State fiasco.  This game was a step backwards.  I still think this unit can continue to improve, but our techique was destroyed by the speed and strenth of MSU.  Again, that surprised me.

I am encouraged.

Anyone remember Barney Cotton in the 1978 NU vs. OU game stop to tie his shoe and miss the part of the huddle where they gave the snap count and so he jumped early -- and all by himself -- going into pass protection?  Someone find the clip of that and it's eerily similar.
