Though defensively he isn't doing as well tonight, on the offensive end I love frank Kaminskys game for a big man. I would love to see Walt add the inside game to go with his outside game. Walt has so much more athleticism thank Frank but he doesn't work as well around the basket. Frank even takes defenders off the dribble better in my opinion because he has the ability to score from anywhere which Walt could do if he tried. If he makes those adjustments then watch out for the future.

Great game. Frank has tremendous patience in the post. Refuses to be sped up and has the best set of post moves & counters I've seen in along time. He went through three counter moves on the possession whee he ended up hitting the 6 ft jump hook. That should be Walt's move. He is explosive and long Not the old school Make the V jumphook but the McDermitt clear out with the off hand & rotate the shoulda through the shot jumphook.

Kaminsky was a 6'-3" guard in his JR yr of H.S. I think he grew roughly 8" in that yr; and now, he seems to be a mobile, athletic post that can occasionally dominate a ballgame. He is definitely fun to watch play inside & outside equally effective.

If Pitch can pick up a few moves from Frank & perfect them, that would be a step in the right direction. Walt has a high ceiling, and he clearly improved this yr during the season... imagine what he can do in the next 2 yrs under Miles & Co. It'll be great to find out!

Averages

Freshman: 7.7 mpg, 1.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg

Sophmore: 10.2 mpg, 4.2 ppg 1.8 rpg

Junior: 27 mpg, 14.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg

Frank spent his first two years getting stronger and coming off the bench...classic Wisconsin.

Pitch is already a better shooter.  Not sure if the focus will/should be primarily post moves or ball handling/driving as far as offense goes.

walt's dangerous now... you don't shoot over .400 from 3 and not be at least a little dangerous in the college game.  he needs to raise that % and also learn a bit of an inside game.  his senior year could be quite ... entertaining if he does.

If walt develops any kind of post-up game, he'd dominate the college game in a way nobody at nebraska ever has before.  I'm not saying we won't have had better players (he'd be hard pressed to be better than shields or petteway while he's here as an example) just that he'd be unique.

Once every 3-4 possessions or so we'd try to give walt the ball deep and let him play around.  they'd be forced to double him or he's a good enough shooter to make that 5-10 footer at a very high clip with ease.  and when they DID double him he's got the size to hit people who are slashing to the rim (and we've got two people who would be VERY good at that specifically in shields and petteway) or a guy who can hit a 3-ball.

You get a guy with his shooting skills deep 10 times a game and you could see someone as a senior who routinely goes off for 20 points simply because he shoots 3's fairly well on the "other" possessions but has LOTS of free throws and 2-3 assists per game.

So yeah... kaminsky isn't a bad comparison.  and i don't think it's a stretch to hope for kaminsky-ish numbers next year (14.5 ppg, 6 rpg, 1 apg).  Pitch this year had 9.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg and about .5 assists.  Maybe a bit less, but a little hope for improvement isn't out of line.
