UNLV down 5 at half...good

Northwestern getting drilled...good

Clemson up 21-19 on Duke...Duke, seriously, if you were ever going to not choke, can you just not do it in the next 2 days. We do not want NC State and Clemson playing for a spot in the ACC final.

Question/clarification about the play-in games. It's 16/16 game, another 16/16 game, an 11/11 game, and a 12/12 game. The ones obviously in play for us are the 11/11 or 12/12 games. So there are five 11-seeds and five 12-seeds in the tournament.

I hear a lot of people talking about "last four" or generally implying that the 4 teams at the bottom of the cut line, the last 4 at-large selections to make the tournament are the play in participants. This is not true, is it?

To me, it seems like random luck of the draw as to who is placed in Dayton. When the seed lines are drawn, it just comes into play if you happen to fall on the 11- or 12- seed line. And then once they place teams into their regionals or do whatever they have to do to avoid previous matchups etc, you just have to fall into place as one of the 2 of 5 11-seeds or one of the 2 out of 5 12-seeds.

Is my thinking correct? It's not nessesarily the bottom 4 at-large selections, right? Or am I way off?

The other 3 12 seeds will be auto bids from smaller conferences. They will also figure out the seeds and the region where they would belong with the 11 seeds. It does not go by a snake seeding process where the # 1 seed plays the winner of the 67/68 game.

Indeed...need duke to take out ncstate..not have st bon with the their tourney...have creightonbeat providence....and have Boise state lose tonight.

We are in right now and have a little room not much.

Just would not be good to see Boise state, nc state or st bonnie snag bids

There's no guarantee the "play in" games will be 11 & 12 seeds is there?  Isn't the "play in" seeding determined when they actually seed the entire field & where the last "at larges" end up in the overall seeding (including the conference champions).  I think the projected brackets just arbitrarialy use 11 & 12 seeds.  The last at larges could be any seed.  It just depends on how many of those "mid major" champions are seeded higher than the last at larges overall.

Right??

Boise State is down 5 to New Mexico early in 2nd half. Come on New Mexico.

Pretty easy who to root for on Saturday:

St. Joseph's > St. Bonaventure (Semifinal)
Duke > NC State (Semifinal)

Creighton > Providence (Final)

Louisiana Tech > Tulsa (Final)

Toledo > Western Michigan (Final)

Florida > Tennessee (Semifinal)
Kentucky > Georgia (Semifinal) (or if you're a gambler hope for Georgia to win this one, then lose to Florida in final. I'd just as soon get all the bid stealers out before the final)

If we can get all these to go our way, I can't see any scenario in which we get left out.

Lunardi now has us as the third-to-last in...

That sounds threatening, but when you consider the First 4 Out are Southern Miss, Minnesota, Florida State, Arkansas...they are all done playing and none of their resumes are better than ours, and that I am confident in. Of his Next 4 Out, only NC State is still playing. Please, Duke, take care of them tomorrow.

It's not just about those at-large bids, it's also about the conference tourneys that could push us out. Things are looking good there for now, but you just never know.

Oh I know, but I think Lunardi literally has us as low as he could possibly put us. No one knows what the real committee is thinking. Shoot, they might have us ahead of SMU, Dayton, Iowa, Providence, Tennessee, BYU...we don't know. They might have watched that game today and saw 2 even teams, one that was victimized by some questionable calls which the announcers on TV even pointed out. After Wisconsin laid the wood to Minnesota tonight, we look even better at the moment.

Does Mac and cuss get more than one in?

Some brutal RPI and sos for toledo....wmich...LA tech and tulsa

Likely not, but Toledo and La Tech would at least have an argument should they lose, so let's just hope they both win. Southern Miss shouldn't get in, they are like 3-3 against the top 100. You can't even seriously debate their merits alongside a team like us that has played 8 games alone against top 25 teams compared to their 6 top 100 games.
