Nebraska figured out the Indiana defenses in the second half and hit 6 of 11 3s in the second half to put up 41 points and win the game 60-55. Four Huskers were in double scoring with Terran's 18 points leading the way. You also might remember this as the game where Nate Hawkins hit a big 3 after passing up the shot twice. The SkinnyThe Huskers are a markedly improved team from when they last faced Indiana They've won 6 of their last 8 and found an identity. Indiana still seems to be the same sort of young and talented team that is also inconsistent...the type of team that can beat Michigan and Wisconsin at home but also lose to Northwestern and Penn St.The scouting report doesn't change a ton whether or not Vonleh plays in this game..Indiana still has guys capable of filling the lane to block shots regardless. Once again the Huskers will focus on neutralizing Yogi Ferrell and Will Sheehey and hope some random Indiana player doesn't start hitting 3s. On offense the Huskers need to play through the changing defensive looks and make sure the Hoosiers aren't zoning off on a player. If Benny or Tai are going to hang out at the 3 point line they'd better be prepared to occasionally shoot.Indiana loves to run the ball, they draw a lot of fouls, and they're playing on senior night against a Husker team that struggles on the road. The Huskers are going use a ton of shot clock tonight to limit the number of possessions, limit the Hoosiers' FT attempts, and to take the crowd out of the game if they can. Expect the Huskers to only push the ball when they can score an easy basket off a turnover prone Hoosier team.Indiana is probably a better team than Illinois but they didn't have the luxury of 7 days rest coming into our game. Can Nebraska keep their composure, stick to the game plan, and pull this out? We'll see.Prediction: Indiana 63 - Nebraska 60Click here to view the article atskooc 1 Quote

KZRider Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Did anyone get a pic of Coach Miles measuring the height of the basket. That would be so fun to see! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ugkzk2l2ZpM Quote

Ron Mexico Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Have 5:30 meeting with the client from my Masters capstone class. Fortunately he's a big husker hoops fan. We should get done in about 15min. Quote
49r Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Preview: Nebraska at Indiana - BATTLE OF THE BUBBLES - BT Powerhouse http://www.btpowerhouse.com/2014/3/5/5473398/preview-nebraska-at-indiana-battle-of-the-bubbles This is a game that many probably overlooked on their schedule, but it is actually one of the most important for the conference this week. Both teams are fighting to get into the big dance and a win or a loss here would have massive implications for their at-large hopes. Nebraska has won 6 of their last 7 games and the Hoosiers have won their last 2 games, which were both over ranked teams. Both these teams are playing well and a loss would have devastating effects on their NCAA Tournament hopes. ed: Take the prediction on this one with a grain of salt though Quote
49r Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Hoosiers Host Nebraska: Try to Tie the Season Together - Crimson Quarry http://www.crimsonquarry.com/2014/3/5/5474212/hoosiers-host-nebraska-try-to-tie-the-season-together It's senior night in Assembly Hall and this game means more than anything so far this season. It's not a win or go home game, but the loser is likely completely off (or has no chance of getting on) the bubble. In the infamous words of Walter Sobchak, "Dude, this is a league game, this determines who enters the next round robin. Am I wrong?". Hopefully that means that Nebraska will be entering a world of pain as the Hoosiers and especially Will Sheehey feel the need to run the Huskers out of their gym on senior night. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 At least both are level head write ups. So we have gotten to where others are showing us respect. Quote
hhcmatt Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Posted March 6, 2014 I was completely wrong on the tempo of this game and the outcome. I got Creaned. Quote
