so this weekend i out Downtown in Lincoln, with friends celebrating their graduation, and i noticed several Husker athletes including Baker Steinkuhler, and Brandon Ubel at the local restaurants and Bars and what i will always admire about husker fans is for the most part they treat them as normal students and people and let them just enjoy their time away from the field, My dad told me stories about, when he used to bounce at a Bar in Omaha, Rozier, and Gill would come downtown, for the most part nobody treated them any differently than the mere, handshake, and congrats. Recently I read in a recent article where Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M as stopped taking On Campus classes, and basically cannot act like a normal student (i,e, getting food at a late night restaurant, has to pump gas at odd hours). So long story short i just want to say Saturday Night made me realize how special we are as fans. Admins if i posted this in the wrong forum feel free to move to the appropriate place.

I remember seeing Tommie Frazier out at an "amateur dance contest" once.  It was in that bar that used to be in the basement of the Gold's Galleria building that I can't remember the name of now.  Looked like he was having a good time.

I always had fun with the athletes that I was associated with at UNL.  I only recall one small issue, and that was as much my fault as it was the other athlete.  So, generally speaking, I think Lincoln is very warm and friendly to the athletes.  Obviously, as with any student, if they step out of line, they had better watch out, Lincoln's finest enjoy their busts...and then of course the media will embrace the story.

I'm almost ashamed that I know this. The Lucky Lady.

Kind of a knock-off "Dancing with the Stars" sort of thing?  I wouldn't have pictured Tommy as a ballroom kind of guy.  But, y'know, Emmett Smith did it.  So maybe Tommy was just ahead of his time.

Here's the real question:  Did he sign any autographs or let anyone take their picture with him?

I think he had a bit of an entourage, IIRC.

Everybody noticed he was there, but nobody made a huge deal or anything.  It was like "oh, look, there's Touchdown Tommie" and then went back to their conversations.

...and I went back to chatting up the cute drunk girl from Oklahoma...  :)
