Huskers drew a 6th seed and go up against Tenn/Chattanooga on Saturday evening at 5:30 at College Station TX.

Win that one we play the Aggies most likely.

The loss to Purdue in the conference tournament hurt us.

Don't know much about the Mocs.  A & M and Kelsey Bone will be very difficult for us to match up with.  If we shoot lights out we have a chance.  Better focus on the Mocs first.

It also hurt PSU which it shouldn't have.

We can beat Chattanooga. Although I thought we should have beat Kansas last year too!

Early in the season Chattanooga beat Tennessee the very first game of the year by 11 at home. And then they beat Alabama by 12 at Alabama and lost to Auburn by 13 at Auburn. The rest of their opponents were mid major teams.

There aren't any common opponents between us and them.

I don't think the Huskers are as beat up as they where at this time last year R6. So that in it self should help a bunch. The UTC team is not as big as the Huskers are so that should help a bit also. Thoughts

Can't think of a tougher 2nd round game.  A & M's size and home court will be a problem.   Gary Blair will no what we're all about.  That's a tough 3 seed to draw.

I hate this draw. I thought maybe we'd either be a 4 or 5 seed. Too bad we didn't get sent to the Columbus OH regional.

We got to hit at least 45-50% from the floor and rebound, rebound, rebound!.....Every game we play.

I'm also thinking a 2-3 zone defense is a must against A&M.

Big Ten seeds a mystery

An argument could be made that all the Big Ten teams were over-seeded except the teams that finished 1-2 in the league. Penn State has a strong case to be a No. 2. Nebraska finished second in the league and received a No. 6, while Purdue (No. 4 seed) and Michigan State (No. 5) were higher.

Some consideration has to be given to the fact that one or two of these teams could have been moved a seed line to accommodate bracketing principles. But it appears that the Big Ten tournament (Purdue and Michigan State were the finalists) carried fairly considerable weight in the committee room. Purdue as a No. 4 seed is a stretch.

The Boilermakers' run to the Big Ten tournament title should not blur the fact that they weren't particularly good in February. Purdue went 3-5 heading into the conference tournament and none of the wins was over NCAA tournament-caliber opposition. Michigan State fared better coming down the stretch, but the Spartans' season was not in any way better than the Cornhuskers' season. Michigan State didn't outpace Nebraska in any significant metric or on the court (Nebraska won the only matchup).

Iowa as a No. 9 seed could very well be the result of a procedural bump, but that's otherwise a little too high. Michigan seems to be where it should be as a No. 8 seed.

Losing is one thing. Getting blown out is another, and getting blown out in two of your last 3 games is going to leave a seeding bruise.

I think our seed's fine, really. That's about what kind of team we actually have.

If we can get to the 2d round, that's about what this team can do. If they get past that, it's an upset into the sweet 16.
