A four-second "five-second" call???

I am the last person to ever complain about the officials.  I hate complaining about refs.

 

However, watch the replay on btn2go.com  When Ray was taking the ball out at the end of the game, THE REF COUNTED TO FOUR SECONDS AND BLEW THE WHISTLE. 

 

Now there are bad calls, poorly called games, and show-boating officials...but not correctly counting to five?  I don't get it.

Very physical game - which is what we needed to have.  Although the refs had their issues, I appreciated the way they called the game (for the most part) -- but I agree, that five second call seemed awfully quick.

I thought it was a legit call at first glance. I didn't get a great look at the replay. I was more more irritated with the ticky tack calls that fouled out Rivers and Shields.

It was 3.5 seconds, tops, if you go by "referee" counting. When a human counts to 5, refs are usually at 4. They have awfully long seconds usually, is what I'm saying, and 5 seconds is usually 6.

 

No way in hell that was even "4 seconds" of actual ref time. MAYBE 4 seconds of human time.

 

BS call. Read my report card - couldn't believe we didn't call a timeout after that and consider fouling or setting up a defense.
