Earlier in the show Miles asked a caller how tall he was and if he had any eligibility left.

Didn't seem to pan out for coach but good he can multi-task

 

 

Re-listened, actually the caller received some good info out of coach.

Called and asked who we are looking to recruit, big play point guard or 

 

 

Classified Biggs and Webster as "playmaking guards" (combo guards)

Classified Hawkins as a 2 guard

Classified Fuller as a 3 Forward with a 3pt shot with the potential to grow into a 4 (power) forward.

 

Referenced Illinois' "stretch forwards" of Griffey as an example of an undersized guy who can guard a power forward

 

Mentally defined the guys he's looking for is a "Double-Double 4 man" - a guy who can play inside and outside (DeShaun Thomas/Dirk Nowitzki), guys who you look up and they have 15 points, 8 rebounds.

 

Also says we need a big man who can score around the rim and anchor the defense.

 

"Can we get both of those guys at this late of date?  You never know"

"Might have to be a division one transfer.....might have to be a guy who has to sit out a year.....in the bigger picture I'm going to do what's right for the program and build it in the right way"

 

Caller went back to talk about Deverell and how he was more of a 2 guard and can probably transition to combo guard and when he mentions defense, Miles chimes in "Ding, Ding"  Essentially Deverell has to improve his defense and the rest of his game is fine.

Interesting to read about Biggs' defense...didn't he rack up a bunch of steals at juco?

I suppose that depends on the team.

You can gamble for steals if you have someone to erase your misses.

I don't think we have that sort of front court and he might not bring enough GATA

I am intrigued by his response if he can still get the big man he is after this year...

 

The way he answered that wasn't full of confidence.

Anyone know any Power forwards that can transfer with immediate eligibility?
