We had a difficult time executing offense against them in long stretches. Didn’t seem to play with much confidence or effort. Injuries to Weidner and Sam are very damaging to this team. If we don’t knock down a better percentage of threes then we are in trouble. After viewing tonight it’s not surprising we couldn’t hang with Drake and Creighton. KInd of goes back to what has been discussed many times here. ...The way we apprach defense. It just dosen't seem to be high on the list of team focus. You have to do it in practice, so when you see played against you, in a game...your ready...or not so much. Creighton and Drake are defensive demons. And their 3's went down the net. Strong physical play is the way women's basketball is evolving. It was just a matter of time. Other than Markowski, (and a few others) banging and crashing around the basket not as much, but do believe you can/must learn it. Markowski was the most productive (pts-rebounds, etc) player last year, per each minute played. She played lots of nimutes last night and you see the results. Tarelton didn't double and triple team her. a lot..to thier misfortune. Creighton and Drake did. On one hand we're one of the few teams, that plays the a full bench most of the time. But, just wonder if that's feasilble anymore. Of course we hope to see everyone play, so.... Both Creighton and Drake played their starters predominantly the whole game. Shooting all these three's are great..if you make about half. Edited November 23, 2022 by redsteve Quote
All About the Corn Posted November 23, 2022 Report Posted November 23, 2022 Agree with Allison going to the ER. Should would have come back out if she would had stayed at PBA. How they did not call a couple of fouls on that play is inexcusable. Poor officiating last night. Also question Sam coming back so early. How can you go from out for the season, to injury not as bad and may come back later in the year to playing after a few short weeks? I am sure she was given the green light by doctors, trainer and staff for limited minutes. Would be surprised if Allison goes on the trip. Quote
Red Don Posted November 23, 2022 Report Posted November 23, 2022 (edited) Post (Tarleton) Game Press Conference. Coach Amy (at about the 11 min mark) - When we blew our 18 pt lead back to a 5 point game, our leaders stepped up and found ways to make plays (or something to that effect) Kendall Morarity seems to be one of the more unsung players on the team; 8 pts, made 3 of her 4 shots (missing her sole 3-pt attempt, 100% FTs, and one rebound, in 14 mins. 12dozen Posted November 24, 2022 Author Report Posted November 24, 2022 (edited) Some good news on Huskers.com. They mention Haiby and Weidner were with the team, when they left this morning. I'm not sure if they will play or not. Guess we'll know Friday. Edited November 24, 2022 by 12dozen Montana_85 F, HUD, whoopdeedoo and 1 other 2 1 1 Quote
