Current Standings and Looking Ahead

Here are the current standings:

I think yesterday's win means that there is a decent chance ( > 25% chance) that we will play Minnesota in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. It's early, but we have locked up not getting the 12th seed. 11 plays 6 and there is a good chance that Minnesota will end up 6. Though, if we could steal the 10 spot we would play the best "average" team and have a good chance for a win in the first round. That would be nice.

 

Does anyone know if there is a Big Ten Tournament calculator like there was for the Big XII?

It is great to be even having a discussion such as this at this point in the year. Before the season began I said that if Tim Miles achieved a .500 record this year he should be named the Big10 Coach of the Year. I stand by that statement.  Just don't think it will happen.

Tim has done better than I figured he would this year.  Like this hire more and more after each game.

I thought there was no way we would win more than two games in B1G play, so he has already exceeded my expectations!!!

As much as I would like to hope for more wins, we may have reached our last one.  Possibly a couple more at home with Iowa being our best option.

But I do love where Miles is going.

I will say it again: what we need is 2 more games against PSU.

 

Illinois has the tiebreaker against us so we have to gain 1.5 games against them.  We do play them but we have to travel there so I doubt we can pull it off.  But in terms of final standing than I guess the two you want to win the most are Iowa and Illinois.  With the other Iowa game being the 3rd.  If you win both of those you might be able to tie with Iowa and/or Illinois.
