Here is a clip on Joseta Fatuesi. She will definitely need to get in better shape and may be a little slow for our system, but girl can play - she has good hands, footwork and can even knock down the 3.

It looks as if we might be able to cross Ivy Brown off the recruiting list pretty soon.

6-2 LaRue County forward Ivy Brown, ASGR’s No. 80 prospect who averaged 22.9 points and 10 rebounds last season, has cut her list to UK, WKU, Indiana, Middle Tennessee and North Carolina State. Tapley said she plans to visit those schools unofficially soon.

Fatuesi?  That's an unfortunate name for a big girl like that.  I bet she took a lot of crap growing up.  You'd hope not, but kids can be mean.  And I can just imagine how quickly they might have made the jump from Fatuesi to something like Fat-assy.

But the kid has some skills.  And I bet if she did get bullied about her weight, she's probably mentally pretty tough.  Which is good.  And some heavyset folks have plenty of stamina.  Wish her the best regardless.  She's probably always going to be big so I hope she's comfortable in her own skin.

How tall is she?

Wilcox CA. 6-foot-3 senior center Joeseta Fatuesi is one of the more coveted girls basketball players in the Bay Area.

Among the scholarship offers she has, said her father Junior, are Arizona State, Utah, Hawaii, Washington State, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Arizona State just offered two weeks ago. Locally, USF has also made an overture.

“She wants to take all of her trips, but if it were up to me she’d make a decision before school starts,” Junior said. “I think I’m only going to allow her to take 3-4 trips so she doesn’t take too much time away from school.”

I'm adding 6'3 center Darrien Washington (2014) from Skyline High School in Oakland CA to our list as I have reason to believe she's visiting this weekend. As a junior she averaged 16.4 points per game, 12.6 rebounds and just under 5 blocks per game. She has offers from Arizona St, Washington, Utah, Oregon, and Oregon St. She played this past summer on Natalie Romeo's team the Cal Starz.

Skyline coach Shawn Hipol said that her strength is "her mobility as a 6-3 center."

"We are still able to press like we like to do because this kid can get sideline to sideline like a guard. This kid can move," Hipol said. "We have been a pressing team the last three years, and we didn't want to change our style of play. Her rebounding is outstanding and her post moves are coming along. "

Is this a visual you have or just a hunch ? Shimmy said that they had a big recruit on campus.

Page will be in Marysville for a game next season...it's just over an hour's drive from Lincoln.  Will I see some Husker red?

Page will play in Marysville on February 25th.  Start time for the girls' game should be around 6:00.

It'll be senior night for Marysville, so there should be a decent crowd.

Erykah Davenport the 6'2 center from Tucker Georgia, whom the Huskers had shown some interest in earlier this summer will announce her college of choice this Saturday. It's been said she's narrowed her choices down to Florida St. Miami, Texas A&M, Georgia or North Carolina St.

Yori had her first presser today and said that she was still working on the 2014 signess any ideas as to who she was talking about ?

I hope we're still in the running for Kia Nurse but most likely it's Chandler Smith a guard out of Washington. I read an article recently where Nurse said that her list of schools has been at seven and that she is going to try and narrow that down to a final four soon.  I can't find that article now but the only school she did mention in the article was UConn.

ESPNW Hoopgurlz just released their latest (2014) top 20 recruiting classes. And the Huskers sit at #11. This class has to be Yori's best job of recruiting since she's been in coaching! And hopefully it only gets better next season. The other B1G team in the rankings is Ohio St at #5. I think we all realize recruiting isn't an exact science and could be a crap shoot at times.  But it's sure nice to be recognized along with some other top programs who always seem to be at the top year end and year out.

They fail to mention Darrien Washington a 3* from Oakland CA under Nebraska's recruits which might have put us in the top 10 should they have.

Connie Yori traveled near and far to land a landmark class at Nebraska, a team that is coming off its second Sweet 16 appearance in the past four years.

The headliner of the class is Kaylee Page, a 6-foot-2 wing and the No. 42 prospect in the nation. Page led Wamego (Kansas) to its first state title as a junior and averaged 20.8 points and 8.1 rebounds in the process.

Natalie Romeo, a 5-7 point guard and the No. 55 prospect in the nation, will be heading to Nebraska from California.

The final member of Yori's class is Jasmine Cincore, a three-star 5-9 wing from Tennessee.

If 2015 ends up being a top 10 class, that's very big for this program.  It's one thing to have a flash-in-the-pan good class once in a blue moon but if you can layer one good class after another -- or one GREAT class after another -- it means you probably have a team full of talent rather than a couple of standouts and backfilled with role players.  And that's maybe what separates the really good teams from the great ones.

Massive props to Connie Yori building this program the way she has.
