A thread was started which listed some of the 2014 recruits the Huskers were looking at on the other board so I thought I would start it again over here so as to keep discussion going and to keep us somewhat updated with the future recruits of Husker WBB. Here is the list with a brief description on each and the schools showing interest in them. There will be more added to this list as time goes on no doubt.

Chatrice White (2014) 6'3 post Shelby/Rising City
She has stated that she will make her decision after the end of the Nebraska high school season in March or April. Offered by Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Michigan State and Purdue. Notre Dame and Stanford are showing interest. Committed to Illinois 4-28-2013

Tatum Neubert (2014) 6'2 post out of Elizabeth CO.
She's starting to gather looks from other schools out west such as Wyoming, Colorado, Indiana. Kansas St, Boise St. and Stanford. Committed to Oregon 8-1-2013

Jasmine Lumpkin (2014) 6' guard out of Joliet Catholic High School, IL.
She essentially landed an offer every 2 days during the month of August, picking up a grand total of 16 offers. Here are the 16 schools that have officially made an offer: Purdue, Michigan State, Louisville, Kansas St, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Marquette, Indiana, Auburn, Ball State, Toledo, Dayton, Wright State, and Arizona State. Committed to Michigan St 5-14-2013

Jasmine Cincore (2014) 5'9 combo guard from Briarcrest Christian in Memphis
Has been offered by UAB and has visited Auburn, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, UAB, UT Martin and Georgia State. She will visit Ole Miss on Sept. 8th and later this fall will visit Nebraska, Michigan, Florida, Vandy, K-State, Louisville, Marquette, Indiana, and Memphis." Committed to the Huskers 6-20-2013

Gabrielle Ortiz (2014) 5'7 guard Racine Prairie WI
Averaged 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season. Is considered by some to be the most talented player in the state of Wisconsin. She has an offer from Nebraska but most likely isn't too hip on it. Has shown most interest in Purdue, Michigan St., Miami, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma. Committed to Oklahoma 8-31-2013

Haley Lorenzen (2014) a 6'3 forward from Iowa City IA.
She has the Huskers listed as one of the seven schools she is considering. As a sophomore she averaged 13.2 points 5.7 rebounds and had 21 blocks. Could be hard pulling her out of Iowa City though. Along with Nebraska, she has Florida, Iowa St, Northwestern, Louisville, Marquette and obviously Iowa. She took an unofficial visit to Iowa St and visited Florida before that. She is the daughter of former Iowa basketball great Al Lorenzen. Committed to Florida 1-4-2013.

Natalie Romeo (2014) 5'8 point guard from Carondelet HS in Concord CA.
Offered by Nebraska over a year ago.  Her junior year, Natalie averaged 21.3 ppg, 6.5 assists, 6.2 steals and 5.6 rebounds per game. She went for 30 or more points five times with a high of 34 against Archbishop Mitty in the Nor Cal playoffs. She also has offers from Arizona, Oregon, USC, Utah, Louisville, Gonzaga, Ohio State, Washington, Boston College among others. Committed to the Huskers 8-1-2013

Ivy Brown (2014) 6' forward Larue County HS. Hodgenville, KY
Brown averaged 19.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and she shot 70% from the line and 37% from behind the arc her sophomore year. Interest from many schools including Louisville, St. John’s, Western Kentucky, Miama (FL), Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Indiana, Stanford, Xavier among others. Committed to Western Kentucky 9-4-2013

Kaylee Page (2014) 6'2 forward from Wamego High School KS
Nebraska has been chasing Kaylee for sometime and she has shown some interest in us but that may be all it is. Kaylee is most likely the best recruit to come out of Kansas next year. She took a trip to Oklahoma St two weeks ago and last week was at Stanford. OSU looks to be the favorite right now. Beside the Huskers she also has interest from KU, Colorado and Missouri. We have a better chance to land her sister Lanie who is in the 2015 class and who some consider a better player than Kaylee. Committed to the Huskers  5-15-2013

Mariya Moore (2014) 6' guard from Salesian High School in Hercules, CA
Strong power player with inside- out potential. Constantly attacking and not afraid to attack opposing size inside. Can finish around the rim and utilizes the reverse effectively. Will need to refine the perimeter skills. At one time and maybe still is considering Nebraska. Has offers from Vanderbilt, Ohio St, Louisville, UCLA, USC, Oregon, Kentucky, Tennessee, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, California, Arizona St. Oregon St. & Nevada and now Nebraska again. Committed to Louisville 7-31-2013

Erykah Davenport (2014) 6'2 center from Tucker High School in Tucker, GA a suburb of Atlanta.

Davenport is a high BCS prospect who has already received offers from Georgia State and Central Florida, and is getting a lot of attention from BCS schools such as Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Purdue. Committed to Miami FL 9-28-2013

Charise Holloway (2014) 5'9 forward from St. Mary's High School in Stockton, CA. Strong player capable of putting up huge numbers on any given night. Her game has an advanced element of "power" and she's an exceptional leaper. Has offers from UNLV, Hawaii, Utah, Nebraska and Mississippi and garnering a lot of attention from Michigan, Arizona, Oklahoma, Arizona St, Washington St, Memphis, Seton Hall, plus many more. Committed to Arizona 8-10-2013

Kia Nurse (2014) 6'1 guard from St. Thomas More HS in Hamilton, Ontario. Has played for the Ontario National team for several years now. Lead the Canadian U17 team to a Bronze Metal with a win over Japan at the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championships. Has garnered much interest from the B1G. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska, and Penn State with late interest from UConn and Tennessee. Has visited Indiana. Blue Star now has her ranked as the 10th best prospect in the 2014 class. Commited to UConn 11-18-2013

Brittany McPhee (2014) 5'11 forward from Mt. Rainier HS in Des Moines, WA. Has Nebraska, Stanford, Arizona St and Gonzaga in her final four for colleges. Last season averaged 22.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.8 assists and 2.6 blocks per game as a junior and was named the Gatorade Player of the year in Washington. Committed to Stanford 8-6-2013

Darrien Washington (2014) 6'3 center from Skyline High School located in Oakland CA. Nebraska is showing a lot of interest in the Cal Stars Nike Elite center. Darrien average 16.4 points 12.6 rebounds and 5 blocks per game her junior year. Her offer list includes Oregon, Oregon St, Arizona St, Utah, Washington and St. Mary's. Committed to the Huskers 9-1-2013

Chandler Smith (2014) 6'1 wing from Brewster WA. Fundamental perimeter performer handles and attacks in transition; court awareness, reads pressure, passes with IQ on break; elevates on mid-range game to the arc with soft touch; a sleeper in the 2014 class. Arizona St. Nebraska, Oregon St, Baylor, Washington St, Gonzaga and Oregon all showing interest. Commited to the Huskers 11-14-2013

Hoopgurlz- "Scrappy, young point guard. Impressive ballhandling and vision and confident ball control. Tends to shoot a push shot but has some range. Aggressive defender. She can shoot the cover off the ball in streaks. She has a toughness about her at the point guard position that coaches love."

maXpreps- "Averages around 18.0 points, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals. Ultra quick and nonstop at both ends. Scores bushels in transition and is good 3-point shooter. Size won't attract college recruiters. "She never, ever stops," Carondelet coach Margaret Gartner said. "Even if her shot is off, she contributes so much on defensive end."

Ivy Brown (2014) 6'0 Forward from Larue County High School. Been hearing reports that the Huskers are interested in Ivy Brown one of the better players coming out of Kentucky next year. Brown averaged 19.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and she shot 70% from the line and 37% from behind the arc last season for Larue County. Some publications have her at 6'2 but most say she's 6 foot. From what I gather she has interest from many schools including Louisville, St. John’s, Western Kentucky, Miama (FL), Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Indiana, Stanford, Xavier among others.

"Young player with a strong build who isn't afraid of contact in the paint. She can block shots and defend without fouling. She can finish lay ups with both hands."

1. Ivy Brown, LaRue County, 6-0, F – No question she’s the best of the bunch in this year's Kentucky class. Brown has improved and recently Stanford jumped into her recruitment.

I added Kaylee Page from Wamego High School in Kansas to the 2014 list as a possible recruit. She is considered by many down south as the best high school recruit to come out of Kansas in quite a while. It's funny though, Wamego is like 20 miles from Manhattan and she wants nothing to do with K-State. It might be a long shot to get her though. Oklahoma State is in the driver seat in my opinion as her Dad is good friends with an assistant coach at OSU. KU would be her second choice as of now. She visited Stanford last weekend and it sounds like she wasn't too fond of the west coast.

Great article. Wish she was already here!

People will need to be a little patient with her. She is behind the curve a bit since she has been a 3 sport athlete and has has less of a basketball concentration than most top prospects. But the coaches think she has a lot of upside and are very high on her. It just may take a little while to click.

Full Court Press says that the Huskers are interested in Maryia Moore a 6' guard from Salesian High School in Richmond CA. Last season she averaged 16.1 points per game, 6.9 assists, 3.9 steals and 7.2 rebounds. They have her sitting as the 19th best player in the top 50, 2014 class. Full Court also ranks Gabrielle Ortiz at #20 and Kaylee Paige #48, others players the Huskers are interested in.

"Moore is a solid six-footer who is probably more comfortable at the four right now but could conceivably move to the three. If she stays at the four, she’ll be a good college player, but if she can make the difficult four-three transition – and there’s reason to believe she can, because she can shoot the three – she is now a matchup nightmare." Full Court Press

Full Court Press also shows that Gabrielle Ortiz has added Iowa St and Michigan to her list.

Here's a recent video/article on Shelby/Rising City's Chatrice White from KHAS-TV channel 5 in Hastings where they interview her and her parents. As you watch the video, notice the piles of letters as the video progresses of colleges pursuing her. From what I can tell there are 3-4 letters in there from NU along with Notre Dame, Iowa, Iowa St, Michigan St, OK St. Stanford and Yale. There's more but I can't make out where they're from.

We should know where she's going to college as she has said she will announce it shortly after the state tournament most likely the end of March or early April.

Here's a question and answer session with Kaylee Page most arguably the best recruit to come out of the state of Kansas in the 2014 class.  In the article she doesn't say what schools she's interested in but will look into that after her season is over this year.

untitled.png?w=237&h=300

Here are Kaylee's stats per game after 12 games this season.

Points Per Game - 18.5

Assists Per Game - 2.8
Rebounds Per Game- 8.5

Steals Per Game- 1.9

Blocks Per Game- 5.1

It also mentions her kid sister Lanie a 6'2 sophomore who is averaging 15.8 ppg, 6.3 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 blocks, & 2.8 assists per game this season. It would be a major get should the Huskers pull either one of these two out of Wamego.

Maybe Chatrice needs to read Dave Hoppen's interview from last weeks Omaha WH about Nebraska players staying at home to play. His comment about Eliason and Gesell going to a school that's at or maybe just above Nebraska's level was great. Nebraska women can compete with anyone in the BIG 10 and anyone else for that matter.

Come on Chatrice, stay where the people from this state can support and cheer for you!

The Huskers are looking at 6-2 center Erykah Davenport of Tucker High School in the Atlanta GA area. Davenport averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 2 steals per game.

One analyst had this review of her "While her averages are strong, Davenport could potentially be averaging 20+ points a game if she would improve her shooting percentages -- she was just 46 percent from the field and 36 percent from the free-throw line. Turnovers are also an issue (4.7 per game)."............. Those issues never concerned us before why should they now?

Davenport is a high BCS prospect who has already received offers from Georgia State and Central Florida, and is getting a lot of attention from BCS schools such as Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Purdue.

Here is a recent FullCourt article on the Page sisters from Wamego KS. Kaylee still keeps it to herself on which school she's interested in but little sister Lanie said she is somewhat interested in Stanford. I know for sure both have visited Stanford, Oklahoma St, KU and NU. Latest I've heard was that Ok State leads for Kaylee.

Nebraska is showing strong interest in Montclair NJ High School 6'2  junior Myisha Hines-Allen.  Hines-Allen is averaging 22.5 points per game and 10.1 rebounds. Full Court Press has her rated as the 30th best player in the country for the 2014 class. No doubt a lot of schools will be looking at her this summer. She has yet to say what colleges has her interest. Or she might have I haven't found it yet.
