AuroranHusker Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 Nebrasketball is by far my favorite sports team but man college basketball just does not compare to NBA. I'm so pumped for tonight. And the two worlds collide with Tyronn Lue as a head coach of an NBA Finalist: The Cleveland Cava-lue's. Quote
jimmykc Posted June 3, 2016 Author Report Posted June 3, 2016 Odd game last night. Almost like the two "B" teams were scrimmaging. I'm sure the level of competition will improve, but if Lue doesn't make some adjustments it could be a short series. Quote
khoock Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 Yeah game one didn't tell us much. On one hand you could say that there is no way the Warriors role players play that good the rest of the series, but on the other hand there is no way Curry and Thompson play that poorly the rest of the series either. jimmykc Posted June 6, 2016 Author Report Posted June 6, 2016 Dullest finale ever. Am I the only person who is becoming bored by watching three point shots swish? It is like watching a golf tournament where the championship is awarded to whoever sinks the most 30 foot putts. Quote
49r Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Copa America is on, jimmy. The Mexico v Uruguay match last night was thrilling! Silverbacked1 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted June 6, 2016 Author Report Posted June 6, 2016 Oh, does that mean it was nil-nil?? Quote
jimmykc Posted June 17, 2016 Author Report Posted June 17, 2016 I must eat my words. The game Sunday has now become interesting. Somehow I get the impression that the league has orchestrated a seven game series to build up interest in the NBA. Anyone else want to join the Conspiracy theory? I've been pretty blase' about who wins but finding out Curry is a huge Red Sox fan may tip the scales. Quote

It's also not hard to believe that the team with the best player in the world (LBJ) was able to win back to back games to even the series. Quote
khoock Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 Plus Curry has had a pretty crappy finals. Kyrie Irving is scoring more points, dishing out more assists, shooting better from the field, and turning the ball over less than Curry is. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted June 18, 2016 Report Posted June 18, 2016 The difference in the finals isn't that Kyrie is doing better, it's that Tristan Thompson is dominating the paint because Bogut is out. LBJ is now getting to the cup at will, too. Quote

LBJ is now getting to the cup at will, too.I was just making the comparison between the two teams PG. Bogut being out is definitely helping the Cavs. As is Igoudala being slowed by his back injury bc he has shown an ability to slow down and frustrate LBJ. Without Bogut and a healthy Iggy, LBJ has been doing whatever he pleases offensively. AuroranHusker 1 Quote

For sure, gettin' Iggy with it is a prime factor for the finale. The 2015 NBA FInals MVP needs to be ready & healthy for game 7, no doubt about that if the Warriors are able to get that Dub for The City. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 93-89 Cavs. What a comeback in games 5, 6, & 7 to be the 1st team to overcome a 3-1 NBA finals deficit. Quote
jimmykc Posted June 20, 2016 Author Report Posted June 20, 2016 An excellent finale. Both teams should be commended. AuroranHusker 1 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 The Warriors only lost 9 games in the regular season. They also lost 9 games in the playoffs. Quote
jimmykc Posted July 5, 2016 Author Report Posted July 5, 2016 Hard to imagine any team other than the Warriors winning in future years. But egos and injuries can sometimes make predictions go awry. Quote

Injuries. It's pretty easy to imagine a couple of those guys breaking down, especially Curry who has been fairly injury prone. Quote
