Read up on our 2016 recruits.  There's a recurring theme that you see when you read articles about these three kids.  Yeah, Rivals 150, blah blah blah.  Whatever.

No, I'm talking something more esoteric.

What kind of kids are they?

Jordy Tshimanga:

"That admissions person, Susan Clayton, also has been Tshimanga’s adviser the past three years. She plans to buy tickets to visit Lincoln and keep in touch with one of her favorite pupils.

'He is a gift — almost too good to be true,' Clayton said Monday by phone. 'Nebraska is getting a wonderful person. He is so selfless, which is so rare for someone his age. It’s like it’s not in a teenager’s DNA, but he has it.'”

Jeriah Horne:

I wish I could find what I was thinking of on Jeriah.  It's the same kind of stuff that's been said about the other two.  Help from the board, please?

Isaiah Roby:

"But when LeBlanc thinks of Roby, he doesn’t think of his teammate as superstar, but more of a relateable friend he grew up playing basketball with.

'It’s crazy to think he’s going to the Big Ten,' LeBlanc said. 'I’m so happy for him. I wouldn’t change a thing about him. Anyone else [with his talent] could be a jerk. You see that a lot, but not Isaiah. He always cares about everybody.'"

Character should be one of the first things we recruit towards.

Look at a guy like Terran Petteway. He loved his mom and while i think he might have ran in to some trouble at Texas Tech(cant remember) he had incredible work ethic and was a leader.

Shavon Shields- Easily one of the best  examples of a student athlete who had a high character. He is someone we all would want representing out university because of his class, intelligence and athletic skills.

The one thing i can respect about how Miles recruits is he brings guys in who seems to act the right way and represent the university the right way.

Ancillary info from 247 on Mr. Roby:

“Isaiah has been committed to the Huskers for over a year and never wavered,” Miles said. “That says a lot about his character and belief in our plan for him and his vision of us.”

More info on Mr. Horne:

Horne thanked Nebraska for his scholarship and the opportunity to grow as a person as well as an athlete. He said, “Yes, sir,” eight times in the first four minutes of Thursday’s interview...

"I believe recruiting is all about developing relationships.  You know, can you communicate and sell the situation that you're in...I think the one thing about recruiting that a lot of people don't realize...everybody wants to chase stars you know 5 stars, 4 stars whatever and you've gotta get talent.  But I think you've gotta have some strong character in the guys that you recruit and you bring into your program.  Because if you miss on a recruit, he may beat you once a year.  But if you miss and take the wrong guy, uh, he'll beat you every day."

McVeigh, Jacobsen, Watson, and Morrow are all really good dudes too. You're onto something with character being one of our top things

So is White, for that matter. And I've heard good things about Gill, too.
