  1. Wanted to start a thread to talk about Wednesday's scrimmage. I'm definitely excited while realizing that it's going to be a crapfest of tired legs and half effort from guys on the same team but anythings better than nothing right. With that said has a schedule been released for how the night will go, I think I remember a dunk or three point contest one night, or anything else like how long will the scrimmage be quarters, halves, where to park, whatever. I'd also invite you all to come and be a part of the podcast. I'd love to get to meet some of you and talk some basketball. I will be holding up a sign that says Risky Roadz Pod occasionally so I shouldn't be hard to find but if you want to meet me somewhere in the arena just let me know where! Feel free to come over even during to scrimmage and give your thoughts. Basketball is finally back! Note: Of podcast on the Secret Scrimmage and Live from the Open Scrimmage is on iTunes! Good stuff if you want to feel the Nebrasketball atmosphere but couldn't make it tonight.
  2. Why not we don't even have to spend time on anyone else because they have all already committed! If we get this kid this could be one of our best classes ever.
  3. I doubt it I think it would be much more likely to affect minutes than usage rate. What would be the difference in how much pain he's having when he has the ball compared to when he doesn't?
  4. Cool that you could read that and see it backed up with that youtube video. I'm feeling pretty good about this kid if he can shoot the three he's going to be a rare triple threat guy on offense. When you start to think about the number of guys who can dribble pass and shoot proficiently with the above average size he has it's a smaller number than you'd think. Basically the only guys no matter the size who can do all 3 are Cope, Zay, Palmer, and hopefully Glynn our top 4 players. On top of that his defense sounds solid. The only concern I would have is that when you move up levels in basketball you need to be elite in something you'd probably find a similar % of triple threat in college and the NBA because it's more about playing a role most often by shooting, being bigger, or being more athletic. Sometimes the guys who are great at one level have trouble finding there place at the next one because they don't have that elite skill. That said I don't think Dre will be that guy.
  5. I quickly looked up Iowa State overall real quick and found that they were predicted 6th and the Big 12 and 25th nationally in kenpom and 31 in BPI. I’m okay with equally splitting with this team.
  6. Anyone know why he wouldn’t.
  7. Who are 39 and 49 in that video (I like them ?) and why are him and Donavan playing with a bunch of kids who look like they couldn't play jv in a class A high school.
  8. I hope and kind of expect that. I’m mean he’s young right?
  9. Seems like this guy is going to blow up real quick. Averaged 16.5 and 6.6 last year in his high school in Kansas. I’m assuming he was back for fall break from Brewster which explains the unofficial. Will get a lot of attention at Brewster this season. Not sure how you can be 6’9 and play enough to get 16 points a game but only average 6.5 rbs.
  10. Hard to do with one video and only the most basic of stats. I want percentages! Anyone know what his competition looks like.
  11. I think what you're trying to say is Creighton them. Creighton: To pay off, bribe, or give employment or a combination of such so a student athlete will play for you. Also see Arizona, Washington, NC State, Louisville, etc...
  12. Achilles injuries may be the worst injury you can have in basketball. 6-8 months would be optimistic I'm more concerned that he may never play at the same level he was at when he was 16. There isn't a lot of medical history lately so maybe technology has improved a lot but it could be a recovery that never fully develops. FYI this info is what I remember from podcasts when Boogie signed with the Warriors which is a very different situation and definitely not an expert or even know as much as I do about orbital or Jones fractures. #sixersproblems
  13. Could be a double header as the Huskers have a game that day. Maybe we could even get the team to join us. They play 2 days after that but it's a home game???
  14. Is there any news coming out of the weekend. Nothing from Robin or anyone in the media? Just seems weird that we thought a commit might be coming and have heard nothing makes you think there's still something coming.
  15. We are going to have to have a great season this year to have a chance IMO. Good thing we should have a great season.
  16. This sounds overall encouraging but would explain not being a high flier even though he's still able to dunk pretty easy.
  17. I mentioned it from watching video before the article came out but yeah 6'5" and 6'8" wingspan could make a big difference.
  18. https://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/recruiting-nebraska-gains-commitment-from-junior-college-guard-jervay-green/article_82d086f1-6a27-5175-8e54-539c70301e48.html Different article "Green is a 6-foot-3 slasher who can get the rim, and can bother defenders with a long wingspan."
  19. On his story Roby posted a picture from media day with class of 2020 as the caption. Probably means nothing but hopefully he does end up graduating from that class after his senior season this year!
  20. The most important thing in the article was that he has a long wing span. That gives him a chance to be a great defender and we already know he has the offense. And wingspan is something we wouldn't have known otherwise.
  21. Totally forgot about this guy feels like we are on fire right now. Good to see he's coming in and it will be after the season starts which means the hype around the program will be crazy. Seems to have good offers I'd be nice to fill up our spots before we get more opening up for the wrong reasons.
  22. Oh crap I was really confused by this and thought it meant he was ejected 3 times fouling out is not nearly as worrisome.
  23. Dang it you were supposed to say "Yeah you know Lickface" I will now not explain that comment and stop highjacking this thread. Yeah it seems like his biggest obstacle may just end up being himself. But at least we haven't heard anything like his juco grades are bad or anything.
  24. Wait a minute are you down with TTP? RTRS?
  25. Quote from the OWN "Green is a 6-foot-3 slasher who can get the rim, and can bother defenders with a long wingspan." This kid may be the best prospect Miles has gotten besides maybe Roby. I'm gonna make a hot take and say that I expect green will be in the NBA. I am feeling especially confident after this quote "Fehringer talks with Green often about how former Indiana guard Victor Oladipo averaged 12 deflections per game as a senior." As I made this comparison before this article broke even though it was for totally different reasons And as a random piece of NBA trivia Robert Covington led the league in deflection rate this year and was nominated to first team all defense so I'm glad to see he is working on this.
