  1. nah, like your other ones!!!
  2. amy williams is rather high energy on the sidelines. she has a more controlled demeanor with her interviews. her usd squad played rather high tempo, especially on defense. the offense seemed to be at their best when they could get up and down the court. i think coach williams brings a "get after it" style of play---probably not all that different from what the gals play now. as far as that goes, i think she would be a pretty good fit for this squad.
  3. re: myah selling according to her and her family, she has not committed anywhere, but, it does appear it will be between usd and sdsu. appears she likes both places. having hip surgery and won't be playing summer ball.
  4. gusso family is a class act. her post WNIT video is just another example. i would be very surprised if she doesn't let the yote fans know one way or the other very, very soon. she has a lot of respect for them------and they love her.
  5. his list for dates just got shorter!
  6. second that! coming from someone who supported Pellini---until the last few years. i realized he was not good for nebraska.
  7. great to read her comments!!! speaks volumes! goin' through a rough stretch--------hang tough!
  8. most likely wouldn't, but, definitely an interesting thought.
  9. hadn't even thought of that name. definitely intriguing.
  10. understand it would be one heckuva coup to get Walz, but, imo you have to try. if someone gave me a "boatload" full of money, but, i had to bet it all on the type of coach, i would put it on the category of "new up and comer". OR, maybe i could just put it toward Walz?!?
  11. i would hope they go after Walz hard. if you want the program to take the next step, imo, that's where you go. may have no interest, but, you have to find out. would also look at the Williams------Amy at USD and Ryun at CSU. thorough but quick, please. i just hope whoever can smooth things out with the incoming class---and the current roster as far as that goes. i was feeling pretty optimistic with the new class. sigh.
  12. the one thing that comes to my mind is it is tough to find a women's team that has a "feel" for the game of basketball like uconn-----and i am saying you can go right down the line with the players. i guess you would call it a high basketball "IQ". that's mostly natural, but, auriemma runs with it and makes it jell (like him or not).
  13. Well said Norm! I do think Angela Beck did a nice job at NU. The new coach needs to be a good one. agree with the others! post of the season!!!
  14. not trying to turn this into a "pelini" thread, but, in regards to his firing: at first, i was glad he was hired---and supported him and hoped he would "grow" into the position sooner rather than later. i understand coaches can get heated on the sideline, but, i thought a few times he crossed the line. then some other things started coming out and it kind of snowballed after that. things that were not good for nebraska. and that farewell speech to the players: that just validated my position that he had to go. glad he is gone.
  15. wonder if she is set to graduate also? she was a redshirt jr. if not, probably pretty close to getting the degree anyway. either way, her decision and that's fine. i would have been more surprised if she stayed.
  16. jmo, but, i'm not sure this job would be the one that could lure her out of vermillion. i think it's a "pass". a pretty decent incoming class. a new arena to open up. pretty nice salary for this part of the country. sdsu and usd wbb giving the Summit some pretty good recognition. some positive stuff goin' on there.
  17. Ryun Williams is a coach i thought to keep your eyes on. fantastic job while at usd---and doing well at csu.
  18. good statement. imo, the one thing i seemed to notice was coach looked a little weary in her uni postgame interview. which would make sense considering all. tough deal----sad.
  19. you are correct BirdsOnTheBat, re: Dirk, when you state "but probably shouldn't".
  20. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:15107092 watching the video didn't sway me to agreeing with her. having said that, i really haven't thought about lowering the basket in the women's/girls game at all. the one thing that comes to mind, wonder the consequences of trying to adjust to a lower basket? don't know, maybe it wouldn't take the players long. btw, the dunk has never really impressed me. i think there are many more skills in basketball that impress me more than a dunk. delle donne tries to argue there are more advantages than the dunk, though.
  21. i am also pretty optimistic. it will be interesting to see how many of this incoming class can give the huskers good minutes.
  22. oh, ok. thanks for the clarification. i know bill can be a bit of a firecracker, so, was just interested in finding the comments. like father, like son?
  23. speaking of the PAC12, anyone know what happened to Cal Bears? i was pretty surprised when, a few minutes ago, i looked on a site and see they ended up 15-17? i believe they were ranked 18th when the huskers went out there? heck, they didn't even qualify for the wnit.
  24. wasn't there a "closed door" meeting with the A.D. just a week or two ago? add that with a few things that have happened the past couple of years and i guess i could see how something like that might have jumped out---for rumor starters, that's like a match just waiting to be lit . having said that, i would really be surprised if she was let go. i believe the only reason she would leave at this time would be related to personal matters.
  25. redsteve: "But Geno can be real arrogant. That may be the Geno that doesn't make me a fan." i agree with your comment. i really have no problem with the "dynasty" part of the situation. it's just the way it is. it is a period where the mcdonald's all-americans, for the most part, seem to flock to uconn. not much you can really do about it.
